• Current security camera systems available on the market are expensive and complicated.

• The Home Surveillance Device will be a cheap, easy to use camera that takes a series of pictures when motion is detected.

CONSTRAINTS: TECHNICAL Name Description
Motion Detection Range
The HSD must detect motion at least 25 feet away.
Power The HSD must operate from a standard 120V wall outlet, and it must be able to operate on battery power for at least 1 month (based on 150 pictures a day.)
Minimum Resolution The HSD must take pictures at a minimum resolution of (320x240).
Picture Storage The HSD must be able to store at least 1 month worth of pictures.
Camera Warm up Time The HSD must be able to take a picture within two seconds of motion.

REFINEMENTS:
Project running within stated specifications last semester.
•Refinements: Cleaned up Code External Switch on case allows the user to turn on/off
the device easily. When case is opened up there are two other switches
• Turn on/off battery power• Turn on/off external power
