I enjoy my MacBook more than I probably should. I love typography. I cringe at bad design. I love colour and organization. I primarily design using Adobe Suite but have been know to take a pencil to paper to really fine tune a concept or idea. I have been freelance designing as of late, and recently taught graphic design for 2 years at a secondary school senior level. From UBC to a local realtor, my freelance projects have given me the opportunity to work with client ideas and ideals, as well as honed my interpretation skills. My teaching position was all about being creative, showcasing orginal designs as examples, as well as designing assignments on a weekly basis. I believe that good designers are always growing. That our technical skills are sometimes more important that our creative skills, and above all else, design is art no matter what you are creating.
My technical skills, along with my creative skills are demonstrated in the pages of this design portfolio. I have attempted to showcase technical program skills along with creative examples. I have also made sure to not exaggerate my skills and abilities to save you the frustrations that go along with that. I have well-developed skills with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. I can use Dreamweaver to create HTML-based websites, using and refining CSS templates. I don’t use Flash. I blog a lot. I am well-schooled in Wordpress.
I’m easy-going, good with clients and simply want to work somewhere that will embrace my creative and technical personality.
