Fall 1992 Organizer: Syllabus, Students AIDS Forum
The forum is a one day seminar to educate students in all aspects of the AIDS epidemic.
Attendance: 350. The syllabus consisted of the day’s events, workshop abstracts, a San
Francisco HIV resource directory, glossary of HIV-related terms and an information section
consisting of different projects that you could become involved in; hotlines, how to start
projects and support groups, legal issues, posters, videos, and more.

Student Health Advisory Committee
As a Health Advisory Committee representative, responsibilities included taking an active
role in analyzing and passing the yearly budget, serving as an advisory member of the
Programmatic Subcommittee, acting as a student-editor for Let’s Go Student Health (a
practical information booklet for students written by students to help understand all aspects
of health care available at UCSF) and participating in monthly meetings.

2004 to 2007 Conduct monthly educational sessions at Jewish Memorial Hospital, Adult Day Health
Program.
2000 Participated in the Boston Area Health Education Center’s Health Careers Opportunity
Program that included two different sessions of high school students who were
interested in the pharmacy profession. Two MCPHS faculty members and myself
discussed the different opportunities in the pharmacy profession, what pharmacy school
is like, what we do professionally and what we like about pharmacy.
1992-1995 Creator: Homeless Volunteer Project, San Francisco, California
Founded a community project in which volunteers prepare and serve dinner at Glide
Memorial Church for people with need. Money is raised to provide food and clothing for
Glide Memorial’s Crisis Center and to assist with transportation costs for the volunteers.
Phi Delta Chi Professional Fraternity adopted the project to foster pharmacy student
involvement in the San Francisco community.
Winter 1992 Volunteer: Aim High Project
Served as a mentor and tutor to disadvantaged youths at Mark Twain High School in San
Francisco, California.
