Pan Am International Flight Academy

This brochure is intended to assist you in becoming more familiar with ourfacilities, surroundings, local activities, as well as providing you information aboutour training programs.

“Customer Service” is at the heart of our training philosophy. Our CustomerSupport Department provides a dedicated, courteous and efficient staff able toassist you in person or by telephone with questions regarding scheduling,transportation, and directions from and to the academy and any other informationyou may require. They are available from 6:30am to 12:00am Monday throughSunday at: TEL : 305-874-6000

They will also be able to assist you with access to photocopy machines, faxmachines and e-mail service.

PARKING is located in the front of the building, all Pan Am lots have signs sayingPan Am Parking. The building is freely accessible during normal working hours,however, you will need an access code to enter the building after 12:00am and onweekends. This same code is used to exit the building.

VISITOR PARKING is available on the northeast corner of the building for up to30 minutes and is strictly enforced. We recommend that you please use theregular parking lot if your visit is going to be over 30 minutes. Please request aparking permit decal from the reception personnel.

IDENTIFICATION You shall wear your company ID or ask to be issued one ofour Pan Am Crew Member ID’s. Please fill out the sheet found at the front deskand write the information you would like your ID to display.

WHILE IN THE ACADEMY, smoking inside the building is strictly prohibitedhowever, designated smoking areas are located outside in front and back of thebuilding. Snack rooms with vending machines are located on the second floor,(east and west wings). If you are looking for souvenirs, the Pan Am Aware storeis where you can find memorabilia from the old Pan Am Airways and is located inthe second floor. They are open Mon – Fri 11:00am – 3:00pm.

STUDY TIME is made easier when you are here in the academy. You arewelcome to use our briefing rooms and PTM’s (pilot training mockups) at all times.Make sure to check in with our front desk personnel for availability.

When reporting to a simulator period, unless otherwise advised please make sureto report one hour ahead of the scheduled simulator time for a one-hour briefing.

The following is “MUST KNOW” material. For the pilots, your approach plates willafford you the opportunity to familiarize yourselves with the different approacheswe will be using.

EMERGENCY DENTAL REFERRAL:

Contact the East Coast District Dental Society at 305-667-3647. Names andphone numbers of dentists providing after hour emergency services are available.

Please note obtaining dentists’ names and telephone numbers does not involve afee. However, dentists do charge for their services.

PHARMACIES:

Minor drug remedies for colds, aches, burns and all allergies can be purchased“over the counter” without a doctor’s prescription. More powerful drugs such as,antibiotics, major pain relief, syringes, etc. require a doctor’s prescription. Thereare two major drug store chains in the area, CVS and Walgreen’s.

Upon completion of your course, returning home will be your next step. Here issome information for departure from Miami International Airport and the airlinesthat service the area.

Call the airline to confirm your reservation at least 48 hours prior to departure.

Allow adequate time at the airport. MIA is notoriously congested and slow.You should allow for long lines, security, and passport control (InternationalFlights).

International flights or connections: minimum of two hours prior to departure.

Domestic US flight: allow minimum of one hour prior to departure.

International flights: maximum of two checked bags (40 pounds/ 22kg) perbag.

Domestic flights: maximum of three checked bags.

Carry on limitations: maximum weight of 40 pounds.
