1. Check that the kit includes the following:
a. (1) Reel of 2 waterproof LED strips with attached cables.
b. (1) 12VDC Power supply with attached leads.
c. (1) LED interface board.
d. (1) Break away connector.
e. (1) Cable protection bushing.
f. (1) Cable for gate shaft.
g. (5) Cable ties.
h. (3) Alcohol cleaning pad.

2. Tools you will need.
a. Power drill with 1/2” bit (Large Unibit will work).
b. Windex or light soap mixture in a spray bottle.
c. 1.5mm flat blade screwdriver.
d. #2 Phillips screwdriver.
e. 22 gauge wire strippers
f. Wire cutters
3. Prepare the gate arm by assembling all parts except elbow covers and shaft
bracket.
4. Set gate arm on a soft surface to prevent scratches.
5. Place gate arm foam alongside the gate arm and center the LED strip with
the foam (the area the LED strip will be mounted). This will give a location
to mark for drilling the cable access hole.
6. Set one section of the elbow cover on top of the arm to make sure the hole
to be drilled is not covered.
7. Drill a ½” hole at previously marked location trying to center on the bottom
45ᵒ side.

8. Insert a cable protection bushing in the newly drilled hole.
9. Use an alcohol pad and clean the same 45ᵒ section from where the hole
was drilled to the end of the gate arm and let dry.
10. Insert the gray cable end of the LED strip into the new hole and extend out
the elbow opening.

11. Begin attaching the LED strip starting from the non-cable end with the
adhesive tape on the bottom of the LED strip 1/8” from the bottom of the
45ᵒ section.
12. Repeat the steps 7-11 for the other side of the of the gate arm.
13. With the LED strips fully attached, remove the gate arm end cap and slide
the foam into the gate arm overtop the LED strips using the Windex or soap
solution spray as lubrication.

14. Reinstall gate end cap.
15. Attach the male side of breakaway connector to the end of the LED strips
gray wires using black, red, green and blue wires.
16. Set the shaft bracket onto the breakaway arm (gray section) on the correct
side of arm which the LED strip is attached and align the holes.
17. Mark the shaft access hole.

19. Mount the shaft bracket to the arm.
20. Snap the power supply to the end of the din rail next to the outlet.

21. Cable tie and extend gray wire from power supply up through the controller
plate hole.
22. Route the black/white power wires to the disconnect breakers and attach
white to white and black to black in the breakers.

23. Clean a location for the mounting of the interface board using the
remaining alcohol wipe and mount the board with the attached tape.
Connect power supply lead.

24. Screw the four wires from the interface board to the digital outputs of the
gate controller using the color code shown. Make sure to skip a terminal
between the green and red wires.
25. Insert the gate shaft cable into the interior shaft hole and extend out the
end of the shaft. Leave a large enough loop for the cable to rotate with the
shaft.

26. Connect the blue connector of the shaft cable to the interface through the
gate controller plate and secure with cable tie.
27. Fish the gray cable from the end of the shaft through the shaft mounting
bracket into the gate arm and out the open section of the elbow. Be careful
not to pinch the cable by pulling slack in the gray cable and slide the
bracket onto the shaft. Tighten the shaft clamps in the proper position.
28. Attach the shaft cable to the female side of the breakaway connector
matching color for color.

29. Connect male to female together on the breakaway connector and tuck
connector and excess gray wire into the breakaway section of arm (gray
section).
30. Attach gate arm elbow covers.
31. Program the gate controller digital outputs to the following.
a. Digital Output 1 - Closed
b. Digital Output 2 - Signal Light B
c. Digital Output 3 - Signal Light A
This will produce a green light when the arm is in the up position, flash red
when the arm is in motion and blue when the arm is down.
