Stakeholder Planning Process
• Feb 4 - Orientation and Capacity Building for Developing Stakeholder Planning Processes– Sacramento, Red Lion Inn 9:00 am – 3:00 pm– Designed to help counties to design and write
stakeholder planning process– Designed for county teams new to developing
stakeholder planning processes– Designed for county teams facing challenges with
operationalizing stakeholder planning processes
Local Mental Health Boards & Commissions
• Regional training for local mental health boards/ commissions– Orientation and training on MHSA– Participation in the stakeholder planning process– Specific responsibilities of LMHB/C– Public hearing process
• Dates: Jan 28/29-Fresno; Feb 18/19-Berkeley; Feb 25/26-Riverside; Feb 4/5-Sacramento; Mar 11/12- Redding
California Mental Health Policy Forum
• Feb 9 – 11, San Diego “The MHSA: A New Vision for California”– Feb 9: Consumer & Family Pre Conference– Feb 10: Keynotes: Focus on “big picture”
• Workshops: Information to inform program planning
• Brief policy discussion– Feb 11: Focus on MHSA
• State Director, Panel MH & MD on role of medical directors in MHSA planning, County strategies
Support to Systems of Care Planning
• Mid March: One to Two Day Statewide Orientation and Capacity Building Session for Stakeholder Planning– Continues orientation, clarification and training on
stakeholder planning process– Outreach to ensure diverse participation– Provide trained facilitators for participation and
regional ongoing consultation and support to local teams
– Plan next steps for ongoing regional support
Support to Systems of Care Planning
• Regional Orientation and Capacity Building Sessions– Estimated to be monthly through July, frequency after
that TBD.– Building on statewide meeting, orientation and training
on stakeholder planning process– Provide trained facilitators for participation and
regional ongoing county specific consultation and support to local teams
– Provide training, problem solving, shared learning– Plan agenda for next session.
• Consider smaller regional groupings if needed
Support to Systems of Care Planning
• Develop and distribute planning manual– Incorporate training into various venues– Post manual and training on web
State Structure for Integrated Training
• Assure consistency, coordination & collaboration• Support the values & goals of the MHSA• Participation of the state department of mental
health, county mental health departments, mental health service agencies, other state and county service providers, consumers and family members.
Training & TA Providers
• Developing collection of providers with skills, areas of expertise, fees
• Feedback mechanism for evaluation (EBay model)• Post on web
