Studying in Metropolia’s Open UAS

Studying in Open UAS 1/3 Enrolling on courses

Done always by Open UAS staff – never by student, teacher, Head of Degree etc.

Schedules Search your courses with the course codes, not with the

group code of degree students (instructions on Open UAS homepage)

With the group code you may find useful general infos etc., though

Follow the schedules weekly for possible changes.


Studying in Open UAS 2/3 Study entitlement period

Study Path, 60 cr: one academic year 23.8.2016 – 31.7.2017

Possible resits (defined for every course before the start) Payments

Study Path, 60 cr: two equal payments charged in the beginning of the term (Aug. – Sept., Jan. – Feb.)

Studying in Open UAS 3/3 Email

Follow both your Metropolia account and the private one that you gave while enrolling – both will be used by the staff.

Open UAS staff uses the address you gave while enrolling, teachers use the Metropolia address.

Applying for a Degree Student Open Path Application

At least 60 credits (ECTS) of higher education studies in Finland that can be used as part of the degree

All studies don’t have to be completed before the application period ends.

Application period is during the Open Path studies. Check the schedule well in advance (currently 1.-15.5.)

After you’re accepted as a degree student You’ll continue your studies with the 2nd year studies, usually

with the same group

Apply for recognition of prior learning (RPL, AHOT in Finnish) using the transcript of records for your studies in Open UAS (sent to you after your last term)

Ask about the practical training, if that’s part of the 1st year studies for degree students
