How are metals Classified?

Alkali Metals-Most reactive, so reactive, not found uncombined with other elements in nature. (Found only in compounds) NaCl=Table Salt

Alkali Earth Metals-Harder and denser, and melt at higher temperatures than alkali metals. Alkali metals are reactive but NOT AS reactive as alkali metals. Also, these elements are never found by themselves and are usually found as a part of a compound. Calcium compounds are essential for healthy bones.
