a range of events, being

named as 39th best music

venue in the country by PRS is

something we are immensely

proud of. Its been a busy year

with our first national outdoor

festival and opening our recording

studio but we are delighted that

our audiences are enjoying what

we do and new people are finding

their way to The Met for our

outstanding and fresh programme

of music, theatre, comedy

and family entertainment.

It’s always rewarding to see the

brochure packed with such great

touring artists. We’ve worked

hard to maintain quality and a

varied programme for Greater

Manchester and Lancashire in the

face of financial pressures and

a changing economic landscape

where people are demanding

much more for much less.

Looking forward, we’re planning

for a positive future with a

large building refurbishment

for 2014, expansion of our

work with schools and young

people and further activity

throughout the borough.

This season sees the first

Homegrown – an unmissable

weekend of fine English folk

music which will include an

international showcase in 2013.

We’re also pleased to welcome

back Proper Job to produce our

Christmas show, Pinocchio,

with their magical and inventive

approach to storytelling.

Your visits and willingness

to try the unknown continue

to support us to develop.

I hope you enjoy the new season.
