Would you like some waffles? What do you know about food in the USA?
Do you eat any American food?
Meals and meal times
Breakfast People in the USA eat when they wake
up. Traditionally, people eat: eggs, bacon, toast,
bagels, cereal, donuts, waffles, pancakes, yoghurt or
fruit. They drink milk, juice, tea or coffee. But
sometimes young people today have a candy bar
and a coke for their breakfast!
Lunch Between 11am and 2pm. People usually
have sandwiches, soup, fries, salad, fruit, cookies.
They drink juice, milk or soda. Schools often serve
hot and cold lunches.
Dinner Between 4.30pm and 7.30pm. Hot meals
include: steak, potatoes, vegetables, noodles,
chicken, fish or roast meat. A lot of families eat a
TV dinner in front of the television frozen meals
and pizza are popular. But many families don't often
eat dinner together, because everyone is too busy.
Eating at a restaurant is also quite common.
ABOUT FOOD IN THE USAA lot of the early American immigrantsdied because they didn't have enough
to eat. Today, many Americans diebecause they eat too much.
