”We had a gap in our ever expan-ding product portfolio and MAFI’s antenna mount steelworks and other steel work components will fill the gap perfectly.”

Greg Wingham, Sales Manager at Graphicshow Cable Accessories (GCA), UK, is both very pleased and proud to announce a partner-ship between the two companies.

”I see this as a great opportu-nity for both companies to gain increased market share in the UK”

It was at the beginning of the year that GCA and MAFI initiated the dialogue that soon led to a partner-ship.

gCa, founded by Ronald Wingham 1998, is a well-known 'One-Stop-Shop' for next day supply of clamps, cleats and other cellular tower rigging accessories. It manufactu-res a patented range of clamps, cleats and other registered design products as well as stocking a wide range of components and consum-bles suitable for the cellular tele-coms market.

”We see ourselves as a unique provider of components for cellular telecom industry”, he continues. ”Whilst building our reputation with our wides range of GCA patented single, double and four-way cable

clamps and fixings we have gone on to build an extensive range of supporting rigging materials and components, often initiated by customer enquiries.”

sinCe gCa launChed it has added a new product lines to its catalogue every year and tries to work with recognised manufacturers. Ad-ding antenna mount steelworks is a strategic and logical continuation of this trend.

”Together with MAFI and our other recognised suppliers, we are

now able to offer most of the rig-ging materials that can practically be shipped on a next day basis”

”We complement each other very well”, he considers. ”We were unable to provide solutions for customers when antenna mount steelworks were requested. It suits our customers to gather their order with as many items as possible, so working with MAFI, as a stocked product line, makes procurement easier for the busy rigging compa-nies, so they can focus on building.

gCa is happy to support MAFI’s entire product catalogue now. MAFI ships their products to GCA’s ware-house and GCA sells them ex-works in the UK so that they can be ship-ped with other items for site builds.

”There are many reasons, beyond our wide range of products, to our success,” Greg explains further. ”rapid response to requests for next day deliveries, being all ears to what the market needs and adapting accordingly to offer a high level of cutomer service. The fact that MAFI follows the same principles strengthens my opinion that our partnership has great potential.”

as a matter of faCt, GCA and MAFI has already developed a new pro-duct together, a parallell standoff

bracket (Product number 31998).”This is a multipurpose product

that replaces previous special products. MAFI was very responsive to the needs of the UK market and together with Sebastian Hohenthal we went from concept to prototype

in two months, which I think was excellent! We expect to start delive-ring as early as July.

greg wingham Considers the fact that MAFI recently had a number of products approved by Arqiva as a great advantage.

”Yes, it is very important. With the commencement of the Arqiva MIP 150 million pound government contract to improve rural coverage, this approval will make the MAFI offering an increasingly important component in this project.”

”Another project where I think the partnership with MAFI will be highly beneficial is the Beacon project, in which O2 and Vodafone are impro-ving their networks.”

the response from gCa’s clients have been immediate:

”I’ve talked to several of our clients who are now trying out MAFI’s products.” Greg continues, ”Many are curious and interested, but I anticipate it will take between six to twelve months before the UK market recognise us as a supplier of antenna mount steelworks, and sales take off for real, but we are pleased to see that our customers now have solutions to rigging is-sues that we couldn’t solve before working with MAFI”. n

Fredrik Ohlsson (black jacket) Project Ma-nager at Huawei Technologies Sweden AB, came to listen to Mafi´s seminar. ”It´s interesting to hear what Mafi has to say since they are close to the market and are quick to hear new needs and trends. It´s also nice to see new products I have not seen before. Some might be of importance for us, for instance when it comes to our RRU´s.”

Susanne Lahti Hagbard and Peter Rydell from Ericsson.”These products are usually just a number to me, says Susanne Lahti Hagbard. ”It´s of great value for me to see what they actually look like, their size and weight.”I also value that we meet suppliers and can exhange thoughts and ideas,” says Peter Rydell.

”I'm here every year,” says Andreas Hägerström, Project Manager at Ge-neral Telecom. ”This new RRU-holder is very interesting. A clever solution to remove weight from the antennas. We've already bought a few.”

Mafi was acti-vely involved at the Telecom day in Stock-holm in May. First, they held a well-atten-ded seminar, and presented new Products as usual. Mafi's tent had a steady stream of interested visitors from Sweden's tele-com industry.

Andreas Persson, Mafi, shows Marco Nikkanen, Karin Age and Lasse Blom-berg from Relacom, some of the new products and how they are used.

John Stenberg, Leif Envall, Esa Forsten and Daniel Chrysong (all in black shirts) from JM Construction appreciated both the high flexibility and low weight of Mafis new cabi-net holder. Pierre Bengtsson, right, explained that Mafi developed it as a response to market needs. ”The ones we

They usually submit an order the very same day they recieve it. And they provide all the support you need.”

Andy Morrison has amongst a number of MAFI´s UK customers and con-tacts won this years MAFI iPad by answering our customer survey.

We thank everyone for their answers and congratulate Andy Morris-son for his win.

During the past half-year, we have further strengthened our positions outside our home market.Primarily, I am referring to the trend in the UK. In a relative short span of time we have built up functioning and effective logistics, and many of our products can be delivered within 24 hours of ordering, which is the self-imposed commitment that we are striving to live up to.We see that our products are att-racting increasing interest through continually increasing demand, which is both a result of us intensi-vely working the market as well as of the fact that we offer effective solutions.

In the past few months we have been able to add a further two suc-cesses to the previous ones:A number of our products have been approved by ArqivaOur partnership with Graphicshow Cable Accessories Ltd (GCA).I am extremely pleased and proud that we have received this show of

Strengthening our positions confidence from such a demanding partner as Arqiva and GCA. Having a number of our products approved by Arqiva is a milestone for us. It is an important step for us in the British market. I view the partnership with GCA as being incredibly positive. The com-pany has an impeccable reputation when it concerns honesty, product quality and delivery reliability. Their philosophy and level of service are completely in line with MAFI's. In addition, we match exceptionally well in terms of how we comple-ment each other's product portfo-lios. We can now offer the market a breadth that I believe is unmatched.I am convinced that this will open

the door to further progress and that MAFI will be establishing itself as an increasingly important player in the UK.

We also continue to conquer mar-ket share in Norway. A year ago, we opened an office and a warehouse in Oslo, and it has turned out well.Currently, we are also active in the Netherlands and Germany. Substan-tial interest in MAFI's solutions also exists in these countries, and I am convinced that our hard work there will pay off in the future. There is a lot that needs to be wor-king properly in order to increase sales so quickly in such a short spa-ce of time. That we have employ-ees, ranging from our warehouse personnel and technical specialists through our people responsible for logistics and to all our local mar-keting specialists, who all work in a loyal and devoted manner, and who are prepared to go the extra mile, is the key to our success.Pierre Bengtsson, CEO n

And the winner is...

”I was very surprised! I have never won anything before, still can’t believe it!” •What will you mainly do with it?”I surf the net a lot but I have a fee-ling my wife will be the new owner of the iPad for reading and games.” n

We are open in Sweden, Norway and the UK through-out the summer for receiving orders and deliveries.

Super cruise in Rättvik, Dalarna

On Thursday, the last week in July, Rättvik*, where approx. 5,000 pe-ople normally live, will be visited by over 50,000 people. They will come both to participate in, as well as to admire, the motorcade of nearly 6,000 veteran cars that will at that

Classic Car Week – the idea nobody believed inIn 1985, Roland Pettersson of the small town of Rättvik had an idea:What if a week were to be arranged for veteran car enthusiasts? For a number of years, nobody took the bait. But at the beginning of the 1990s, Roland Pettersson had some 20 people in on it and "Classic Car Week" was born. The rest, as the saying goes, is history.

time be cruising through Rättvik and the vicinity.

Due to the event, it is estimated that the area will host approx. 35,000 overnight stays during the week in which Classic Car Week is held. And

in the entire district, the turnover is estimated to be approx. SEK 100 million (approx. EUR 12 million), also due to Classic Car Week. However, in the beginning, visitors were sparse.”The first year, 1992, there were 67 caravans”, reminisces Roland Pet-tersson with a laugh. But since then, the number of visitors has grown by 50-80 percent each year up to the present figures.”Roland Pettersson, who has been

the Chairman of the Classic Car Week's Board for 20 years, believes that the broad offerings of the event, both for adults and children, are the secret to its success. There are, in addition to the main event of the cruising, competitions for the best car, performances by artists, dance, pub nights, a demolition derby, snowmobile race (in the middle of sum-mer!), guided bus tours to the district's sights, a medieval market, air show and veteran boat festival (Rättvik is loca-ted by Sweden's largest lake, Siljan).”Every year we also

offer something new, this is im-portant”, says Roland Pettersson. ”This year, we will have both drive-in weddings and drive-in baptisms!”

the visitors come from all over Sweden. Around ten percent of the guests are tourists from other countries, including Norway, Fin-land, Denmark, Germany, the UK and the Netherlands. In Sweden, most people take holidays in July. By week 31, which is that last week of July, and the beginning of August, most people normally have returned back home.”This is precisely why we chose week 31”, explains Roland Pettersson. ”We wished to extend the tourist season for our tourism industry. There were not very many people who believed in the idea. But now, it is during this week that we have the greatest num-ber of visitors to our district”.On the question of whether he is now the town's hero, he just laughs and says:”I don't know, it's not an issue I spend any time on. I just think it is fun to be able come and see our society and to have a nice time to-gether in various pleasant forms.” n
