The good weather has finally arrived and the landscaping company will be able to start the spring clean‐up and the weekly mowing. You also may have noticed in last couple of months that the tree company was able to complete some scheduled trimming maintenance on the berm trees. This is done every few years or so to prevent wind damage to the trees, remove any dead or dangerous limbs, help the trees keep their shape, and to open areas for new growth on our large trees. We continue to evaluate any dead/dying trees or bushes with the intent of replacing some of them when the time is best to plant new ones as advised by our tree and landscape expert consultants. In this newsletter you will also find an Architectural Review Form to complete prior to any exterior work on your home. Some examples include, but are not limited to, painting, roofs, decks, fences, pools, additions, etc. This form must be completed in advance of any work starting to avoid delays and/or fines. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Kimberly Sutherland at our management company RealManage (formerly Rowell). Just a reminder that commercial signs are not allowed on your property or the berms/parkways at any time except for one home “For Sale” sign in the front of the house, not on a berm. Help Keep River Run BeautifulWith Naperville’s annual FREE CURBSIDE BRUSH PICKUP scheduled to begin mid-May, area homeowners now have theopportunity to take a critical look at their property and do some maintenance on their shrubs and tree canopy.

This is also a good time to ensure that your trees overhanging the public right-of-way (streets and sidewalks) comply with the Cityof Naperville recommendations of a minimum of 12 to 14 feet clearance on the street side and 8 to 12 feet on the side of thesidewalk (a larger range on the sidewalk side for both clearance and to balance the tree out once trimmed). Failure to comply fortrees overhanging the street may very well lead to an unexpected “trimming” by the garbage truck as it makes its weekly rounds.

Collection Specifications

• Branches must measure between 3 to 8 feet in length and be no greater than 6 inches in diameter. (Shorter lengths may bebagged or bundled and placed out on garbage day with a yard wastesticker attached.)• Stack branches neatly on the parkway with cut ends toward thestreet. Brush piles that are badly tangled will not be picked up.• Please place branches with thorns in a separate pile.• Do not tie or bundle your brush piles.• If brush contains anything other than branches it will not becollected. • More information is available at naperville.il.us/services/brush-leaf-and-yard-waste-collection/brush-collection/

Pet TalesBy the Naperville Area Humane Society

Jude Paw | Male | 1 Year OldIsn't it everyone's dream to be famous? Well my road to fame is similar to many. I'm from a small town inKentucky and came all the way to the big city in hopes of catching my break. So far I've had a few smallparts on shows like Paw & Order, Su-purr-natural, and The Big Fang Theory. When I'm not busy beingfamous, I enjoy playing with toys and having my ears scratched. I'm not sure how I feel about sharing thelimelight with another animal but maybe if they have the right attitude it would be ok. So what do youthink? Can you handle a celebrity like me?

Ricky | Male | 4 Years OldAre you looking for that special friend to share your home with? Well come and see me! My name is Ricky, and I'm looking for a home where I can be the only pet. I may be small, but I'm pretty high energy. I love toplay with toys, and I'd really benefit from nice long walks. I think this could be very rewarding because wecould bond together while doing these activities! A quieter home where people aren’t always in and outwould probably be best for me because I might get anxious and protective of my family. Once I am tiredfrom our daily activities I would enjoy a nice bed and some relaxation time. So if your home is empty andyou need a friend to share it with please come see me! I just want to be the center of attention in my newforever home!

Each street/block in the River Runsubdivision can select a Saturday afternoon this summer from12 noon to 6 pm to reserve the Poolside Patio to host a “BlockParty” in their street name. They will be required to bring thebeverages of choice to be served (plastic cups) from the Tiki‐Bar on the patio. The residents may also plan for some choiceentertainment if they should so desire and lite hords as well. The event will be sponsored by the members of that specificstreet/block name.

At the end of the summer, we will ask all members to voteon the “Best of the Best Block Party”. We will then present thewinners an engraved plaque with their street name at theOctoberfest Pig Roast to be displayed in the clubhouse forcomplete bragging rights for next year until we vote a newwinner. Who knows, we might just get a River Run Clubspecially made flag to run up the flagpole for the next season.

In order to confirm your Block Party date, you must callMark at the Clubhouse. We already have a few streets signedup, so you better get your neighbors together and get yourdate confirmed soon. So let’s see which block party has themost creativity and flair to wanna be called Champions!
