Steubenville South / Life Teen CampIt is that time of year again where life-changing conferences and camps are ohered for our high schoolers! For the past 20 years, the Steubenville South Conferences (June 26-28 Alexandria, LA) has served over 70,000 youth of our region, helping them to find the true love of God in Jesus Christ. Camp Hidden Lake is a week-long Catholic summer camp located in scenic Dahlonega, Georgia (July 26-August 2). It is a place where parish youth groups from all over the country come together to dive deeper into their Catholic faith and strengthen their relationship with Christ, while having unforgettable experiences.
With prayerful consideration, we encourage you to sponsor a high schooler for either the Steubenville South Conference or Camp Hidden Lake. While any donation is greatly appreciated, we ask that you would consider a donation of $250 for the Steubenville South Conference and $500 for Camp Hidden Lake. We also ask that you would keep us in prayer, entrusting us to the Immaculate Heart and Merciful Heart of Our Lady.

Memorial GiftsAt the death of a loved one, many choose in lieu of flowers to encourage friends and family to make a donation to a special charity or cause. Our Lady of Mercy has nourished the spiritual life of so many parishioners and those throughout the Diocese who come here. A Memorial GiF to our parish and school is a wonderful way to acknowledge the lives of our beloved dead with a giF of loving generosity to the church that has been such a spiritual home. Ms. Deanie Smith can discuss beautiful ways for you to remember your loved one.

ADORATION CHAPEL
SAINT OF THE WEEK
St. Philip Neri (1515-1595)
FEAST DAY: May 26
Philip Neri was a sign of contradiction, combining popularity with piety against the background of a corrupt Rome and a disinterested clergy, the whole post-Renaissance malaise.
At an early age, he abandoned the chance to become a businessman, moved to Rome from Florence and devoted his life and individuality to God. AQer three years of philosophy and theology studies, he gave up any thought of ordination.
As the Council of Trent (1545-63) was reforming the Church on a doctrinal level, Philip’s appealing personality was winning him friends from all levels of society, from beggars to cardinals. He rapidly gathered around himself a group of laypersons won over by his audacious spirituality. Initially they met as an informal prayer and discussion group, and also served poor people in Rome.
At the urging of his confessor, he was ordained a priest and soon became an outstanding confessor, giQed with the knack of piercing the pretenses and illusions of others, though always in a charitable manner and oQen with a joke.
Philip’s advice was sought by many of the prominent figures of his day. He is one of the influential figures of the Counter-Reformation, mainly for converting to personal holiness many of the influential people within the Church itself. His characteristic virtues were humility and gaiety.
