It all starts with a strong foundation. One built upon

dedication and commitment. Constructed by student-

athletes ready to make Emmanuel lacrosse all that we

hope it can be. By accepting this challenge, you’ll help lay

the groundwork for our new tradition. You’ll take part in an

opportunity unlike any other and an experience you won’t

soon forget. Not simply because it’s a chance to be part of

something great. It’s a

chance to be there

from the start.

Meet the CoachBrendan McWilliams is the Head Coach of Men’s Lacrosse/Director of Lacrosse, overseeing both the men’s and women’s programs at Emmanuel. Previously, he was at the helm of the Kenyon College program, where he led the Lords to an NCAA Division III tournament appearance and was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Lacrosse Coach of the Year in 2006. In his last two seasons at Kenyon, McWilliams produced 15 all-conference players, as well as one All-American and two North-South All-Stars. During his tenure, the lacrosse program earned national rankings from both the USILA and the NCAA.

Before coaching at Kenyon, McWilliams spent time as an assistant coach and offensive coordinator at the University of Vermont and as an assistant coach at Tufts University. In between his stints at Vermont and Tufts, McWilliams spent two seasons as the head coach at Cherry Creek High School in Denver, Colorado, where he guided the 2002 boy’s lacrosse team to a 16-2 record and a Colorado state championship. As a student-athlete at Colorado College, he was a two-time captain of the lacrosse team and was selected to play in the prestigious North-South All-Star game.

FacilitiesThe Saints’ home venue is unlike any in Boston. The team plays on the brand-new synthetic turf field at Roberto Clemente Field, located across the street from Emmanuel’s campus. With its open-stadium design and the city’s skyline as its backdrop, Clemente Field makes for a unique playing experience. The facility is outfitted with new MUSCO lighting, scoreboard and plenty of spectator seating. In addition, the Saints have access to a state-of-the-art training facility in the Jean Yawkey Center, a new film room for game tape review and scouting, and a new locker room for men’s lacrosse. The St. Joseph Hall Fitness Center is updated with new platforms, racks, free weights, plate-loaded equipment and a separate cardio room.

“Coach McWilliams epitomized the work ethic, dedication and

competitiveness necessary to succeed as a student-athlete at

Colorado College. It is these qualities that make him a great fit for

Emmanuel College. With his knowledge, experience and

tremendous ties to the Boston area, he is the perfect choice to

lead this program.”
