On Memorial Day, Americans remember the soldiers who died in wars.

There are parades in many towns.
Soldiers march in the parades.
Bands play marching music.

People watch the parades. Then they go to the cemetery and put flowers and flags on the graves.

There is no school on Memorial Day. Banks and post offices are closed.

There is a three-day weekend so many people travel on Memorial Day weekend.
Many beaches and parks are open for the summer on Memorial Day.
