What Will the Maryland Building Industry Association do for YOU?

All eyes are on the new Maryland Building Industry Association with more than 1,100 members

and a full time staff to serve you. The merger of the Home Builders Association of Maryland and

the Maryland National-Capital Building Industry Association will strengthen our industry and the

benefits to you. By joining MBIA, you also gain membership in the Maryland State Builders Asso-

ciation and National Association of Home Builders.

Legislative and Regulatory Support

MBIA has a government affairs staff of four representing you and your interests in each county

and at the state level from the Maryland State Builders Association and federally from the

National Association of Home Builders.

MBIA now has one voice in Annapolis. In 2013, actions on the legislative, codes, regulatory and

legal fronts, as well as in other arenas, provided members an estimated savings of $6,200 per

housing start (NAHB, 2013).

Home Builders Care Foundation

Home Builders Care is the charitable foundation of MBIA with the mission to complete shelter-

related construction projects by utilizing the building industry's specialized skills and by collab-

orating with existing community service and care providers, such as other non-profit agencies

and governmental agencies serving the homeless and other at-risk families and individuals.
