The College Board India Scholars ProgramThe College Board India Scholars Program recognizes academically-talented students in India, creating pathways to higher education for talented low-income students who otherwise would not be able to afford a high-quality undergraduate education. Students in India who achieve above a certain score level on the SAT are recognized as top performers. Top-performing students who also demonstrate significant financial need (annual household income < INR 4,00,000) are eligible for a full tuition scholarship funded by the College Board and the participating Alliance member university in India where the student enrolls.

Students in India only need to take these three steps to qualify as a College Board India Scholar:

1 Take the SAT. SAT scores from tests administered in October, December and March for Grade 12 students, as well as scores from May of Grade 11 students will count as qualifying exams for consideration in selecting Top Performers.

To ensure low-income students are able to sit for the SAT, the College Board has engaged Buddy4Study, India’s largest scholarship platform to distribute SAT fee reductions to low-income students across India. For further information, visit buddy4study.com/collegeboard.

2 Earn “Top Performer” Status. All students in India who achieve above a score of 1350 (out of 1600) on the SAT will be designated as College Board India Top Performers each April. Top Performers will receive a communication via the email address provided during registration with further instructions on how to apply for the scholarship.

3 Low-income “Top Performers” apply to a participating member university of the India Global Higher Education Alliance.

Low-Income Top Performers who are accepted at a participating Alliance Member university in India will be considered for full-tuition scholarships.
