WhereValdesquí.

Opened in 1972, Valdesquí is a small resort close to Madrid (70 km) and Segovia (37 km) that is very popular with skiers from both provinces. It is located in the municipality of Rascafría (Madrid), in the north-east of the Madrid Region. It abuts the recently created Sierra de Guadarrama National Park, of great ecological value.

With a skiable area of 24 km, its minimum altitude is fairly high (over 1,800 metres), which guarantees a good covering of snow for most of the season. It boasts 27 pistes (three red, 15 blue, nine green) and its 15 ski lifts (6 chair lifts –2 four-seater, 1 three-seater, 3 two-seater– and 9 ski tows) can carry 11,816 people per hour. www.valdesqui.es

Valdesquí

Why the Valdesquí ski resort?

Because the Valdesquí ski resort is one of the closest to Madrid and, consequently, the perfect place for our youngest students to start practising winter sports.

The pistes are relatively easy, and students are given the chance to practice sport to further their personal and academic development outside the classroom.
