students, admissions boards, and deans
• Informative seminars in preparing personal statements and applications

including discounts towards MCAT courses!!
• AED T-shirt ($10 value) included in membership dues
• Opportunities to participate in community service
activities and volunteer work
• Meet students with the same goals. Attend social gatherings

WHY JOIN?
• All Members:
• Attend at least 3 chapter meetings
• Attend at least 1 medical school event
• Participate in 2 recruiting and/or fund-raising events
• Participate in 2 community service events
• Participate in at least 1 social event
• Acquire at least 20 active total points
• Associate Members:
• Dues of $30/semester or $50/year (Includes AED
T-shirt. Adds towards National Membership.)
• National Members:
• GPA of 3.20 in both the cumulative and science GPA
• Completed at least 45 hours of college credit
• Dues of $30/semester or $50/year (Includes AED T-shirt.
Adds towards Lifetime Membership.)
• Mandatory Non-Refundable $75 National fee (goes to the AED national office)
• Optional one-time lifetime national fee of $150
• Approval of completed membership application by Faculty Advisor, Dr. Williams

COUGAR SCAPEL
DSAH SOCK HOP DANCE
On Saturday, Sept. 8 AED
members volunteered for this
awesome event.
Some of our members were
asked to participate in “Dancing
with the Stars”.
PROJECT CURE
On Friday, Sept. 7th AED members volunteered at
the Houston Warehouse.
We got to see medical supplies we’ve never seen
before. The supplies that were sorted will be sent to
Honduras soon!
BAKESALES
On Monday, Sept 10th we
hosted our first bakesale.
Breakfast tacos were sold,
along with our usual “Alpha
Dog”, and baked goods.
We raised over $400!!
Good job everyone!!

UTSA Pre-Medical Conference/Symposium
•Date: October 19-21
Limited spots for 30 members
•Purpose: analyze primary care and the effect that
future physicians will have in the next 15 years.
•Price: between $20 and $50 per person.
•Sign-Up Opens: Tonight at midnight!!!
