for Spirax Sarco products. We have an extensive
network of approved manufacturing plants
around the world, including the UK and Europe.
For instance, our integrated fabrication facility
is able to deliver pre-assembled packages of
products, from simple valve train units through
to complex steam systems. Our customers
appreciate the convenience, cost-effectiveness
and reliability of these packaged systems.
Our comprehensive product range covers the entire steam and condensate loop, from blowdown valves and steam trap stations, to packaged systems and sustainable boiler houses. Forget the hassle and time to source from multiple suppliers – with everything from Spirax Sarco you can be sure that products will integrate seamlessly, spares are readily available and servicing is straightforward.
We invest in top-class manufacturing capabilities for our extensive product range, so you get what you need when you need it.

Consistently high qualityIn-house manufacturing gives us ultimate control
over product quality, including traceable materials
from the best technical and commercial sources.
Much of the assembly is automated, with
computerised testing to ensure consistently
high quality standards.
Delivering the latest technological developmentsDespite competitive pressures, we never rush
products to market. Our approach to performance
testing is meticulous and thorough. We insist
on achieving the highest possible reliability in
our products.
We use advanced techniques including 3D
modelling, computational fluid dynamics, finite
element analysis and rapid prototyping to research,
design and develop products in-house, and often
in partnership with customers and specialist
experts. This permits rigorous testing, over a wider
range of component combinations, to ensure you
get the most cost-effective solutions possible.
“Our R&D process involves rigorous testing that enables us to conduct improved performance fine tuning, minimising the risk of product failure and maximising your return on investment.

Spirax Sarco is a clear market leader in steam systems. We have the market presence and resources to keep abreast of the latest legislative and technological developments in the steam industry. It is part of our commitment to share our insights and knowledge to provide you with the best advice and solutions.
Forward thinking to keep you one step ahead
The application of innovationOur innovative solutions focus on saving energy,
improving processes and complying with the latest
legislation. It’s a combination that makes us the
perfect partner to help you attain new levels of
efficiency and performance in your steam system.
Modern steam systems are safe, reliable and
efficient and our research and development
programme will continue to deliver the very
best solutions.
Business and environmental improvements go
hand-in-hand, and we already have more than
80 years experience of providing water and energy
savings for our customers. We are committed to
maintaining a strong focus on developing the kind
of environmentally-benign solutions that will keep
steam as the heating medium of choice now and
in the future.
We are constantly striving to deliver improvements at every
level. For instance, complete solutions such as our closed
loop condensate and flash steam recovery packages provide
unrivalled energy savings, while individual components such
as our Spirax SafeBlocTM compact double block and bleed
valve help promote the safest maintenance procedures.
Proven in the marketNumerous case studies highlight how our forward thinking has
helped organisations to reduce energy consumption and
carbon emissions, improve process efficiency, respond to new
legislation, and successfully complete a variety of complex
projects. Some of these successes are highlighted opposite.
12
Innovation lies at the heart of our operations, with new ideas constantly being deployed in design, manufacturing and supply, resulting in products and services at the forefront of steam technology.
Tate & Lyle:One of our EasiHeatTM packaged heat exchanger
systems is saving so much energy at Tate & Lyle’s
Manchester facility that it will achieve payback in
just 12 months.
Abbey Corrugated:A heat recovery system from Spirax Sarco has
helped Abbey Corrugated become one of just 12
organisations to be awarded the “Carbon Trust
Standard”. The installation was the most valuable
energy saving project undertaken by Abbey
during its ongoing energy reduction campaign,
and reduced the amount of gas burnt in the
company’s boiler by almost a quarter.
Cambridge Glasshouse:This innovative project allows one of Cambridge
Glasshouse’s clients to become one of the first UK
companies to grow tomatoes commercially all year
round. Spirax Sarco’s equipment enables John
Baarda to turn energy from a neighbouring site
(steam created as a by-product) into hot water for
heating its enormous greenhouses.
Polestar:We delivered one of the biggest boiler house
projects in the UK on time and to budget, for
Europe’s leading independent printing company.
It was built and fully operational – with steam
distribution equipment throughout the 43,000m2
site – in just 5 months.
This demonstrates how our commitment and
resources enabled us to provide everything from
planning, project management and equipment
right through to training the staff in how to use
the new system.
Dragon’s Den star, Deborah Meaden, presents Adrian Swinalls from Abbey Corrugated with the Carbon Trust Award.
