Greetings Ravinia Club Members! It is with excitement and purpose that I start as your new Membership Director here at Th e Ravinia Club. I pursued this opportunity because fi rst and foremost I am committed to continuing the culture of excellence and standards held by our club. As a member for several years, the times I spent here were nothing short of delightful. Making friends at wine-tastings, business connections at the Professional Development Series, and attaining personal fi tness goals made my decision to become a permanent
part of the Ravinia staff an easy one. If my positive experience could be shared with those in the community so that all may benefi t, then I should start right away! And so I have. I am calling on local businesses, gathering members from the now closed Ashford Club, but most importantly, I am trying to make contact with all of you either by phone or in person. I want you to know that I am here to serve you. Our club has survived during these tough times because of your generosity and love for the club. It is my job, and the job of all the staff , to exceed your expectations and make each of your visits a delight. If you enjoy your time here, then surely you will invite others to join you. And here is where I could use your help! Anyone that you feel could benefi t from spending time here is a great referral. Th is could be your neighbor, colleague, church friend, sister etc. All you have to do is provide me with their name and a contact number or email address and I will gladly contact him or her about membership! I promise to respond quickly with the appropriate care and respect to all referrals from you. Referring a friend is the highest form of compliment you can give me and your club.I am looking forward to the coming year and invite your feedback and suggestions on how to continue the successes of the Ravinia Club. My “open-door” policy means that you can come to me anytime because your input is important. You are what make our club spectacular!Th anks and I’ll see you around!Lauren McJenkin
From The General Manager
Dear Ravinia Club Member,
The Ashford Club, which was affiliated with the Georgia Alliance of Private Clubs, closed February 1st. Its closing created a significant opportunity to not only add Ashford Club members to the Ravinia Club’s roster but also to consider offering you Alliance privileges to increase the value of your membership. Thanks to all Ravinia members who responded to our recent survey regarding Alliance and Society privileges we learned our timing was right.
As, of May 1st the Ravinia Club will become a full member of the Georgia Alliance of Private Clubs. This is a great benefit for all our members who frequently dine and visit other clubs in the Atlanta area, nationwide and overseas. This means as a Ravinia Club member, you will shortly have access to:
• Over 35 additional Atlanta-area clubs including the City Club of Buckhead, Georgian Club, Commerce Club, The 1818 Club, Aschasta, Chestatee Golf Club and many more
• Over 650 Reciprocal Clubs in 47 states and 46 countries
• Great seats at Chastain Park, Philips Arena, Fox Theater and more
• $75 in gift certificates each month to use at select clubs for golf, dining and athletics
• 24 Hour Concierge Services – for Yankees’ tickets, San Francisco Opera seats, Masters tickets, etc.
• These additional clubs will be made available to you at a preferred rate of thirty dollars per month, a savings of $10 over the current Atlanta Society rate.
This new partnership will be a positive change with substantially more Atlanta club options and reciprocal clubs in most major cities worldwide. The Ravinia Club has notified Club Corp and Atlanta Society of this new partnership as The Georgia Alliance of Private Clubs does not require an exclusive relationship. We are hopeful Club Corp will respond positively as well but there is a risk our benefits with Atlanta Society and Club Corp may come to an end. We will continue to keep you updated.
If you have any questions about this new partnership and what benefits you may now have, please do not hesitate to contact myself or your Membership Director Lauren McJenkin (770) 395 5148 or [email protected]. I am sure you will be as excited about these new privileges as we are!
Best regards,
Steve FrankeGeneral Manager

Ravinia Charity Champions
As another club-wide project sponsored by the Ravinia Charity Champions to benefit the Lance Armstrong Foundation, A Taste of Ravinia Life has been compiled and published. This cookbook shares a bit of Ravinia’s members and their friends through recipes new and old; borrowed and stolen; healthy and delicious.Your copy may be purchased at the Athletics Desk for $15 or at all March TGIFs. Chef Eric will prepare hors d’oeuvres at these TGIFs from some of the book’s recipes. All profits from
the sale of this cookbook will go to benefiting the Lance Armstrong Foundation. Eighty-nine cents of every dollar at the LAF goes towards programs in support of cancer research and most importantly, assisting those in their personal fight against cancer. Two years ago the Ravinia Charity Champions was founded by interested Ravinia Club members for the purpose of supporting non-profit organizations dedicated to health and wellness. The Lance Armstrong Foundation was chosen because it embodied attributes consistent with the mission of Ravinia’s Athletic and Wellness program. With your help, the Ravinia Charity Champions raised over $115,000 in 2008-2009. New initiatives are in the planning stages for 2010. Once again we need your help in supporting the RCC and continuing the war on cancer. Thank you again for joining the fight! The Ravinia Charity Champions
