Dear students and partners,

it is my great pleasure and honour to introduce you the summer program on medicine. The idea of the program spreads across countries and regions, but its main focus is to deliver practical knowledge and experience to students who plan to connect their career with the medical and pharmaceutical industries. At the same time, we work on our summer programs with experts in the field in order to deliver exactly what is needed after the graduation from the university in order to succeed.

Our project is organized in cooperation with the Charles University in Prague and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the Czech Republic to build up on a long history combined with modern education methods. All lecturers are very successful practitioners with many years of being recognized for their high profile work. We believe that in the current age of digital flood of information, everybody must carefully select what and from whom to learn. We work with the best in order to be the best.

ARRIVAL TO PRAGUE

DUE CARE AND BUDDY PROGRAM

Upon students’ arrival, it is our privilege to welcome them at the Prague airport. After check-in at a dormitory, ECCE staff helps them familiarize with the city and arrange basic needs for their stay. Our goal is to prepare and maintain hospitable, friendly and welcoming environment for all students, considering all their personal needs or requests we can comply with.

- Buddy ProgramUpon arrival, students are divided into groups of 10 and assigned a buddy, who is a liaison for the group regarding all matters and situations students can encounter while in Prague. Buddy is also of personal help for individual students.

TACKLING THE CHALLENGES OF MEDICINE

It is no secret that out of all areas of education medicine is the most challenging. Universities can never convey all information and often fresh professionals find that the biggest struggles still await them.

The main goal of the ECCE summer program on medicine is to bridge difficulties in the professional world and teach young medical students how to approach them through theory as well as experience. The program further aims to broaden students’ knowledge on the latest worldwide trends in selected areas of medicine. It covers fields and information which expand the tuition generally provided at medical universities and topics of importance for future practice of the candidates. ECCE aims to provide its graduates with an extra advantage among their colleagues. It enables them to stand out from the crowd in order to have an advantage on the job market by enabling them to taste present trends in medicine, to broaden their scope of vocational knowledge as well as practical work experience.

OUR ELECTIVE IS THE ABROAD EXPERIENCE YOU WISHED FOR

- the elective lasts from 30th July - 17th August 2018

- the 3-4 week elective at either a medical or a research institution or at a pharmaceutical company will be provided to you according to the ECCE test resultsOne to three students per company.

- internships are always under close watch and guidance of senior company representatives, who attend to students and coach them further

- our partners range from the largest international companies with broad scope, large hospitals to smaller but focused clinics and institutions

WHAT CAN STUDENTS DO BESIDE LECTURES AND INTERNSHIPS

- our staff arranges various team-building events for students throughout the lecture period (first month) of the Summer Program

- our goal is to engage students in various free time activities and introduce them to European culture in an entertaining way

- we hold escapers, karaoke, laser games, barbecues, Prague sightseeing, traditional products and souvenirs shopping, etc.

INFORMATION ABOUT NEXT SUMMER PROGRAM

Next year of the summer school on medicine is expected to start on 9th July and end on 27th July 2018. This period is being followed by 3-4 week internship, as mentioned previously. ECCE Grand Reception is scheduled for the middle of July.

This entire program is priced at € 1500, including the elective and lectures.

EARLY REGISTRATION FEE till 31th March 2018 is € 1300.
