The project is a magazine related to the game Minecraft and it will be available to download online. 

I will accomplish this by creating the magazine on Microsoft word and, using a free file sharing website, put it on the internet for minecrafters to download and read. 

The magazine will be aimed at people that play minecraft or people that have a big understanding of the game (trust me; you need one to play the game) 

 

 

My unique selling point is that my magazine will be the only magazine about minecraft around that I know of.   

 

 

Everything that I will be using will be free or already paid for but the game was around £12. 

The website that I will be using to direct people to will be made by the Google website maker which is free. 

The file sharing website I will be using is MediaFire because it’s free and has an unlimited upload capacity. 

The computer/laptop that I will be using has already been paid for so using them won’t cost anything. 

I will be using a free PDF document creator so it won’t cost anything to create the final copy. 

 

 

A computer/laptop to create the magazine and website.  A modem or wireless network device to access the internet.  A PDF printer to create the PDF document.  The game to find out about different Redstone ideas and other things.  Microsoft Office Word to create the magazine.  Microsoft Windows XP/Vista for the operating system of the computers.    

 

I will include a contents page to help people navigate the magazine because without it minecrafters won’t know where stuff is. 

I will include a page on the latest minecraft news and gossip because minecrafters can catch up on the latest minecraft snapshot/update news and other things like the secret introduced in Minecraft 1.9pre‐release. 

I will include pages on the latest news and videos from some of the most famous Minecraft related YouTube channels because allot of people that play minecraft watch people like the Yogscast and Jessie Cox from OMFG Cata (one moderately funny gamer cataclysm). 

I will include a page on minecrafters cool builds that they will send me and a page on Redstone videos because minecrafters would like to show off their builds and Redstone is the most complicated thing in Minecraft. It can get very 

complicated. E.g. a massive dual core processor made with Redstone. 

I will include a comic strip about minecraft’s own Steve. I will make this with the game minecraft by taking screenshots with the F2 key and I will also use Single Player Commands to change the perspective of the camera. 

I will include a Texture pack of the week page because some minecrafters like to use texture packs to change the way minecraft looks and having a place to find new texture packs would benefit them. I would do this by getting the texture pack (free) and take screenshots of different blocks, items and mobs. 

I will include mod spotlights for minecrafters that like to use mods to change the way minecraft works. I will do this by taking various screenshots of the different features that a mod introduces in minecraft and I will write about them explaining the mod and how to use it. 

   

 

 

I will make the magazine with Microsoft Word, taking pictures off of the internet and in the game because it is a great way of getting pictures without the hassle of recreating what was on videos. 

I will make the front cover with the magazine’s name in the minecraft logo font because it is widely recognised by minecrafters and other people have used it to make their name stand out. E.g. Bashcraft uses the minecraft logo font for its name because it stands out. 

I will create a page on news which will need to be researched and then will need to be typed up onto the magazine itself and then it will need publishing along with the rest of the magazine. 

I will create a page that contains the news on famous minecraft YouTube channels because people will want to find out about their favourite YouTube channels. 

I will use a PDF printer to ‘print’ my magazine off into a PDF format so I can upload it on the file sharing website for people to download and read because it is easy and it is free to do. 

I will create the website with Google’s website creator by choosing a design and adding different tabs to the website like info on the magazine and downloads. I will do this because it is easy and it is free and uses the same login feature as YouTube and G‐mail. 

I will use Minecraft to get specific pictures for the magazine and to find out about minecraft updates and mods and to generally (possibly) just messing about blowing up creepers and building pointless redstone contraptions. 

I will publicise it by creating a website using Google’s website creator and using key words that search engines will use to find it and I will try to embed a version of the pdf magazine on the actual website. 

 

 

 

 

A potential problem is that the people on YouTube that I write about don’t want to be in the magazine or they don’t want their stuff on something else. 

Another potential problem is that no one will want to read it because it’s new and ‘done by a noob’. 

Another potential problem is that the images that I will use are copyrighted and I will be fined for using it without permission.

If I cannot come to the lesson then I will try to do it at home. 

If the computers decide not to work then I will use the school computers and my Dad’s computer to do the necessary work. 

If I accidentally breach Copyright and am e‐mailed about it then I will apologise and remove the object creating the copyright breach. 

If the internet goes down in my house then I will use the internet at school for the things that aren’t blocked. 

If I cannot get access to a computer then I cannot do any work. 

If it becomes obvious that I can’t complete the project on time then I will call on the help of my friends.
