Social Value Act
The Public Services (Social Value) Act came into force in 2012 and requires public bodies to consider how the services they procure might improve economic, social and environmental wellbeing before the procurement process starts. They also have to consider whether they should consult on these issues.
What do we mean by impact?‘Any change resulting from an activity, project, or organisation. It includes intended as well as unintended effects, negative as well as positive, and long-term as well as short-term.’
