Nurse’s News

Immunizations

6th Grade Parents - A Tdap vaccine and 2nd Varicella vaccine are required prior to entering 7th grade. If you are at the Doctor’s office, check to make sure your immunizations are up to date. If they are not, get the

required vaccine and turn the paperwork into the office ASAP. If they are up to date, please send in a current immunization record so we can be sure that our records are up to date as well.

Fall 2017 Athlete Parents - Your immunization record must be up to date prior to participating in practices in the fall. Please get them updated prior to the end of the school year.

Any student participating in Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA) athletics will not be allowed to participate until immunizations have been updated.

If you are unsure if your student is up to date, please contact Robin Westerman, school nurse, at [email protected] or 788-8551.

Media Center NewsThe library will not allow anymore book checkouts after May 1st. Book drop off boxes are located in A-Hall and inside the media center.Be sure to return your materials ontime to avoid library fines!

Lost or Damaged BooksOccasionally, there is some confusion over the textbook rental fee. Please discuss with your child the policy as the textbook rental fee does not cover the cost of any book or property checked out to a student and subsequently reported as lost or damaged. The cost of lost or damaged materials will be decided at the time the report is made.

CAFETERIA NEWSStarting on May 1st all meals must be paid for at the time of purchase. No student will be allowed to make a purchase with a negative balance. All current negative balances must be paid on or before May 15th.

Career Day 2017Our annual career day will take place on May 16th from 8:30 till 11:30. Many community members volunteer their time to to help inspire our 8th grade students, before making their transition into high school, where they will have the opportunity to choose a pathway for career choice. The 8th grade students will be given the opportunity to select their top 5 presenters and listen to what they have to say. Each presentation will last 30min.

Teen Leadership IIThe teen leadership class has the opportunity to partnership with the city and travel each week to experience different aspects of career, education, as well as job description. This class is learning about all parts of city management.
