MDMS (Meter Data Management System)
An MDMS is an automated system that collects data from various meter reading devices and processes the information which then links to the Utilities main system.
An MDM system will typically
• Import the data, then validate, cleanse and process it before making it available for billing and analysis
• Validate the data and calculate estimates if no readings are supplied
• Make sure the data is an appropriate format, before sending it to the billing system
• Provide 2 way communication between CIS and AMI systems
