    Off to State For the rst time since 2009, the Scotty Girls have

    an entire team competing at the State B Golf Meet.

    The Scotties left for Billings yesterday. Today they

    will be playing a practice round, and Tuesday &

    — hosted by Huntley Project and Shepherd High

    Schools — at Pryor Creek Golf Course in Huntley

    and Eagle Rock Golf Course approximately three

    and-a-half miles northeast of Billings.

    Bowhunter Education ClassOffered Here, Begins Friday   A Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks bowhuntereducation class will take place this week in Glasgowstarting Friday. Tere are still several spots remainingand this is the last chance to take the bowhuntereducation class in the Glasgow area.

      All first time bowhunters, regardless of age, mustcomplete a bowhunter education course to purchasean archery stamp in Montana. State law requiresthat anyone using an archery license, or hunting witharchery equipment, must show either a previous year’sarchery license or a certification from a bowhuntereducation course to buy a stamp. Students must be atleast 11-years old on the first day of class to be eligiblefor certification. Te course is free of charge.  Te Glasgow course is set for May 15-17. Classeswill run from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Friday, 8-4 p.m. onSaturday, and from 3-5:30 p.m. on Sunday for the fieldday. Te location for the classroom portion will be inGlasgow at the FWP Headquarters.  Prospective students need to pick up theirBowhunter Education book “oday’s Bowhunter” atthe FWP office in Glasgow by Tursday.  Please readand answer the questions in the back of the book beforethe first day of class, and bring all necessary forms.       Te Montana High School Association has posteda position opening for Assistant Director. Te vacancywas created when Scott McDonald, longtime MHSAAssistant Director, resigned that position by announcinghis retirement.  Mr. McDonald began his tenure with the MHSAin July 2004. He served as the rules interpreter and

    staff liaison for volleyball, basketball, cross country andtrack and field. During his MHSA career, he completeda four-year term on the National Federation of StateHigh School Associations Basketball Rules Committee.  Mark Beckman, MHSA Executive Director, quotedMr. McDonald as stating, “I would like to thank you,the MHSA Executive Board, MHSA Staff and theMHSA member schools for the opportunity to serveas an MHSA Assistant Director for the past elevenyears. I have grown professionally and personally in theposition, and it has been an honor and privilege to servethe Association.”  Mr. McDonald will complete his employment withthe MHSA on June 30, 2015.

      New or novice shooters will get a betterunderstanding of how to safely handle and shoot a varietyof firearms including rifles, shotguns and handguns.Te workshop will also cover gun cleaning.
