Heathrow Airport 2008
Heathrow Airport: THE 2020 Vision
The Problems
•26% of projects in 2009 failed to integrate information +2 months after completion (74% represented 26,000 assets)
•We don’t have a single ‘data capture tool’ we supply to our projects (we have 3) none of which are supported directly by BAA IT
•By mid 2013 we expect 200,000 new assets will need integrating into Maximo
Root Causes
Lack of visibility of project asset information
Poor quality, inconsistent structure and reworking of information detail
High volume batch release of project information as projects complete
No single source of A.R.N generation
Increased processing time when using excel sheets
The Solution
c200,000

EAM solution
•To enable delivery we need an Enterprise Asset Management solution that will support our Strategy
•Working with our parent company Ferrovial to develop competency and strategy to ensure that our organisation, processes, data and tools optimise our approach to Asset Management to deliver our business objective
• Integration of all systems related to asset information: GIS, document management, building management systems
• IT is not necessarily the answer to Asset Management, but may be part of the solution
Any questions?
