opposite) and synonyms (words that mean the same):

Writing Prompts –

Choose One

Space Writing Prompts

1) We always dream about the possibility of life on other planets. Can you

imagine, however, what we must look like to aliens who may be watching us?

Write a story from the point of view of an alien who is observing the people of

Earth.

2) Weigh the risks and rewards of space flight by explaining why you would or

would not like to be a passenger on the Space Shuttle.

3) Make up a new planet. Describe the important features of the landscape,

what the climate is like, and what lives there. Write from the viewpoint of the

first visitor to this planet.

4) There is an argument that it is a waste to spend money on a space program

when there is so much need right here on Earth. Do you think it would be wiser

to take the billions spent on NASA and instead try to fix the world’s problems, or

do you think that exploration in space is just as important and may eventually

solve some of Earth’s problems when we are able to colonize another planet?

5) Do you believe there is life on other planets?

Log/Journal Keep a daily log/journal of what is happening in your life, your community, your

country, or around the world.

Keeping a journal not only helps your writing, but can be very therapeutic.

Writing

Descriptive

paragraph

Go outside or look out a

window...what do you see?

Describe what you are seeing by

writing a short descriptive

paragraph (in French of course).

Practice using adjectives and

descriptive language!

Exemple :

En regardant par ma fenêtre aujourd’hui, je

peux voir le ciel gris avec de grands nuages.

Tout est mouillé avec la pluie de ce matin.

L’herbe devient un vert vif. La rivière est

rude à cause des vents forts. C’est un peu

apaisant, mais j’espère que demain sera

ensoleillé.

Grammar

For the following verbs in the

passé composé, choose the

correct auxiliary (avoir or être)

and finish the conjugation.

Once you have filled all the

conjugations out in your head

or on a piece of paper, read

them back to yourself.

Exemple: Elle _____ allée --> Elle est allée

Tu _____ mangé

Nous _____ tombés

Il _____ bu

Je/j’ _____ entrée

Tu _____ fini

Vous _____ sauté

Ils _____ venus

Nous _____ eu

Demander toi-meme...est-ce que ce verbe

est dans la maison d’être?

Reading

Cooking in

French

Choose a French recipe on

Kraft Canada to read and

follow and see how you do!

You can do this with a family

member and teach them

some French vocabulary along

the way.

A fun way to expand French vocabulary,

reading skills and the ability to follow

instructions in your second language.

Note: Be sure to have a parent’s permission

or supervision before completing this

activity.

Epic Books

Mrs. Elliot has signed everyone up for Epic Books! Go Epic, click on students, type in the class code, and then find your name.

Practice Mindfulness

To practice mindfulness, sit quietly and focus on your breath. Breathe in and notice how the breath enters

your body. Where does the breath go? Breathe out and notice how it feels. Continue to breathe in and out

for 1-5 minutes. Notice if your mind wanders and if you catch your mind wandering, return your attention to

breathing. Try this mindful practice three times today. What do you observe each time?
