Another year begins with hopes and

aspirations of a better tomorrow. As we step in

to the new session it is our promise to all our

dear students, parents and guardians that

DPS Bopal will continue its journey towards

making itself better than the best in all fields.

It will continue to make a difference to each

and every child under its care. And most

importantly, it will work very consciously

towards empowering its students to give back

to society. Trust between the parent and the

school is another very important component

towards the overall growth of a child. We

need to be partners in this and trust each

other’s abilities to work with total commitment

towards empowering the future citizens of the

world with all the skills required.

famous Mathematicians was put up on the soft board. Active and enthusiastic

involvement of all the students of Class I and II in the activities like Treasure

Hunt, Number Game, Rangoli made the week vibrant. Students strolling in

traditional attire of the mathematician took us back to the days of yore. They

wore the clothes with geometrical prints and had food of geometrical shapes

    which made ‘Math Come Alive’.

  • ----6666

To make students aware of the use of mathematics in day to day life power

point presentations were shown to students of Classes III - V. They also

“Every artist dips his brush in his soul, and paints his own nature into his

    pictures“ - Henry Ward Beecher

Over the years Delhi Public School Bopal, Ahmedabad has given a large

number of students an opportunity to showcase their best creation through

‘Strokes’, an art exhibition. The young artists were given a platform to compare

    and critique each other’s work.

  • ----10101010

    special assemblies

    UttarayanUttarayanUttarayanUttarayan

Special assemblies on 10.01.13 were held to celebrate Makar Sakranti,

Uttarayan, Lohri and Pongal for classes I and II and III - V in Abhivyakti.

The mood in the campus was upbeat and the students were totally absorbed in

the festive spirit. The assemblies started with prayers and a prayer song. New

Year was welcomed followed by thought for the day “God is everywhere” which

was highlighted through a small story narrated by the students.

  • ----11111111

As Makar Sakranti is associated with various harvest festivals celebrated

across India, a student gave information about the same along with a small

ppt showing the different moods of the festival. In Gujarat, Makar Sakranti is

associated with Uttarayan, the festival of fun, frolic and high octane kite flying

celebration. A small skit was enacted to teach students about the safety rules

and precautions one must follow in order to have a safe Uttarayan. A dance

and song highlighting the importance of the festival of Lohri and Pongal were

presented by the students of classes I and II and a beautifully choreographed

dance presented by students of class IV which highlighted the essence of

Uttarayan. The students, dressed in traditional attire, sang songs of the

festivals and danced to the tune of folk songs. The assemblies concluded with

    the National Anthem.

    Republic DayRepublic DayRepublic DayRepublic Day

To commemorate the 64th Republic Day, date and moment when the

Constitution of India came into effect, special assemblies were held on 24.01.13

for classes I and II and on 23.01.13 for classes III - V. Filled with patriotic

zest and fervor, the special assemblies took place in Abhivyakti. Children of

classes I and II pinned a miniature flag on their blazer’s lapel. The assemblies

started with Shloka chanting followed by the news wherein the Headmistress

was also interviewed. The patriotic fervor of the people was witnessed when

students presented the thought and story based on it, followed by Republic Day

message. The students narrated the stories of our great freedom fighters, in their

journey towards success in the attire of Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. Rajendra

    Prasad, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar etc.

  • ----13131313

The electrifying dance performances by the students of classes III - V and on

the song “Suno Gaur Se Duniya Waalon” by the students of classes I and II

filled the whole environment with the feeling of patriotism and love for country.

The Headmistress addressed the little ones and encouraged them to be good

citizens and to respect and love their nation.

    HoliHoliHoliHoli

Holi celebration takes place with a lot of joy and fervor throughout the country.

Holi helps to bring the society together and strengthen the secular fabric of our

country. Keeping this in mind we at DPS Bopal celebrated the festival with a

spirit of bonhomie and brotherhood by having a special assembly dedicated to it

on 11.03.13 for the classes I and II. The assembly began with Ganesh Stuti

followed by a prayer dance. There were the thought for the day and the news

    headlines.

  • ----14141414

Holi gets us close to our religion and our mythology as it is essentially the

celebration of various legends associated with the festival, such as, the legend of

Prahlad and Hiranyakshyap and therefore the story was narrated for the

benefit of the children. It was followed by a song and a dance. Later the

children bid adieu to their teachers as very soon they would be going to the next

class. With smiles on their lips and tears in their eyes they played Holi with

their teachers and gave beautiful cards made by them.

    ThanksgivingThanksgivingThanksgivingThanksgiving

“action de grace”, a thanksgiving assembly was conducted on 12.03.13 by the

students of class V to express their gratitude towards all the teachers who have

contributed in making their journey through the primary classes, wonderful. It

began with a prayer, “Ganesh Vandana” which was followed by an apt

    thought for the day.

  • ----15151515

A group of students then put up a welcome song which was followed by a

rocking Rap song. Students also felicitated each and every teacher teaching in

classes III - V with a creative title. Few students expressed their “special

memories” about the primary school life along with a collage of snapshots

depicting their batch in various moods. It was followed by a satire in the form

of a Qawwali. Not forgetting the colourful Holi fest, there was a Haryanvi

dance put up by the Dance and Music Hobby students of class V.

At the end of the assembly, the H.M. addressed the gathering. She advised the

students to set their own targets be it academics or co-curricular activities. She

also added that all the teachers love them and have their best interests at heart.
