Invergordon

Invergordon byggdes 1960 långt uppe i högländerna några

kilometer utanför Inverness.

Syftet var att förse den växande blendindustrin med

grainwhisky. Affärerna gick bra, bolaget introducerades på

Londonbörsen och man började bygga egna

maltwhiskydestillerier. Först in house-destilleriet Ben Wyvis

och sedan Tamnavulin. Därefter knöts Bruichladdich,

Tullibardine och Deanston till bolaget, och ännu senare

Jura och Glenallachie. Efter en lång rad ägarskiften såldes

Invergordon 1993 till Whyte & Mackay som nu producerar

40 miljoner liter whisky årligen till sina många blendsorter

från Invergordon.

Unika med Highland Park:

Torven på Orkney - jorden är unik då det inte

växer några träd på Orkney vilket påverkar

torvens inverkan på whiskyn.

Faten - endast de bästa och finaste ekfaten används

till att göra Highland Park. De sherryfat som används

är tio gånger dyrare än de bourbonfat som vanligtvis

används inom industrin.

Klimatet - det speciella och vindpinade klimatet på ön har

en stor del i den karaktär som gör Highland Park så unik

världen över, där sötma möter rökighet.

A great introduction to Highland Park! You’ll start with a short film about Orkney, Highland

Park and our Viking roots, followed by a tour of our working distillery and finishing with a

tasting of two selected drams of Highland Park – 12 Year Old VIKING HONOUR and

another of our HERO whiskies.

On our Viking Heroes Tour, you will sample four selected whiskies from the Highland Park

range, including 12 Year Old VIKING HONOUR and 18 Year old VIKING PRIDE (named

Best Spirit in the World in the Spirit Journal).

COST: Viking Soul Tour £10.00 per person (Standard), £8.00 per person (Concession:

senior citizens, full time students, visitors between 14-17 years of age).

Viking Heroes Tour £20.00 per person (Standard: no concessions).

Join us for a tour of our working distillery, followed by an expertly

tutored nosing and tasting of seven single malts from our award-

winning range.

You’ll have the opportunity to purchase an exclusive single cask

bottling (subject to availability) and, as a souvenir of your visit, you’ll

receive your own tasting glass, a signed & framed certificate and a

book about the history of our distillery.

COST: £75.00 per person

TIME: April to October Daily at 12:30pm and 2:30pm

November to March Monday to Friday at 12:30pm and 2:30pm

DURATION: Allow 2 hours

BOOKING: Advance booking only. Transfer between St

VIKING LEGENDS EXPERIENCE

A legendary experience, starting with a short film to introduce you to Orkney,

our Viking roots and the history of Highland Park and followed by a tour of our

18th century distillery. Then it’s up to the private tasting room to sample the

award-winning whiskies in our Valhalla Collection – THOR, LOKI, FREYA and

ODIN – as well as our new Viking Legend Series.

After the tour, you’ll have the opportunity to purchase an exclusive single cask

bottling (subject to availability) and, as a souvenir of your visit, you’ll receive

your own tasting glass, a signed & framed certificate and a book about the

history of our distillery.

COST: £100.00 per person

ORCADIAN VINTAGES EXPERIENCE

Join us for an authentic behind-the-scenes tour of our distillery and an

opportunity to see parts of the distillery not usually open to visitors.

Sample whisky straight from the cask in our warehouse and meet the

modern-day Viking descendants whose skill and dedication make

Highland Park stand apart today.

You’ll be guided through a tutored tasting of four spectacular Highland

Park Vintages - 1968, 1970, 1971 and 1976 as well as an exclusive

single cask bottling in front of the open fire in our private Eunson

Room. Following the tour, you’ll have the opportunity to purchase the

single cask bottling (subject to availability) and, as a souvenir of your

visit, you’ll receive your own tasting glass, a signed & framed certificate

and a book about the history of our distillery.

Glenfiddich 25 år Rare Oak släpptes ursprungligen för

Travel Retail marknaden. Det är en blandning av spanska

Sherry butts och amerikanska bourbon fat, vilket resulterar

The house was originally called Boynsmill and was renamed by James Allardice when the distillery was

built in 1826.

1826The Distillery Was Founded

The GlenDronach Distillery was one of the first licensed distilleries in Scotland.

1830Bought Over

The distillery was bought over by Walter Scott (From Teaninich).

1860sThe Largest

GlenDronach was the largest duty paying distillery in the Scottish Highlands.

Over 50 people lived on site at this time, including all of the workers and their families.

1920Captain Charles Grant

Captain Charles Grant bought over the distillery.

Charles was the son of the founder of the Glenfiddich Distillery

1960William Teacher & Sons

The distillery was bought over by William Teacher &

Sons.

Teacher's expanded the number of stills at GlenDronach

from two to four.

1996GlenDronach Was Mothballed

The distillery was mothballed for a number of years by its

owners Allied Distillers.

2002Distillery Re-Opened

GlenDronach was once again in full production.

2005Chivas Brothers Take Over

Allied Distillers was taken over by Pernod Ricard and the

distillery was passed to Chivas Brothers.

2005GlenDronach Converts To Steam Heating

The distillery was one of the last to heat the stills by coal

fire.

2008TAKEOVER

GlenDronach was taken over by the BenRiach Distillery

Company Ltd.

2015Global Whisky Distiller of the Year

The BenRiach Distillery Company was named Global

Whisky Distiller of the Year at the 2015 Icons of Whisky

Awards. A fantastic achievement for a small privately-owned

independent company to win this prestigious global award.

2016Brown-Forman Takes Over

For more than 145 years, Brown-Forman Corporation has

enriched the experience of life by responsibly building fine

quality beverage alcohol brands. The acquisition brings three

outstanding Single Malt Scotch Whisky brands into Brown-

Forman’s growing whiskey portfolio: The GlenDronach,

BenRiach, and Glenglassaugh.

Destilleriet grundades 1826 [1] i namnet Sir William Pulteney

(som dog 1805) och som Pulteneytown heter.

Destilleriet var det nordligaste på det skotska fastlandet (det har

använts av Wolfburn Distillery nära Thoro) och var ganska

otillgängligt, utom till sjöss, när det etablerades.

Korn fördes in av havet och whisky skickades ut på samma sätt.

Många av destilleriarbetarna anställdes också som fiskare.

Destilleriet stängdes 1930 på grund av minskad handel efter att

den lokala församlingen verkställde förbudslagar men öppnades

igen 1951 när omröstningen upphörde efter att lagen

avskaffades. Äg nu av Inver House Distillers.
