ENTRANCE SONG Come as You Are Text: Deirdre Browne, © Tune: Deirdre Browne, ©; arr. By Jane Wood, b.1954, © 1994

Come as you are, that's how I want you. Come as you are, feel quite at home. Close to my heart, loved and forgiven Come as you are, why stand alone? No need to fear, love sets no limits. No need to fear, love never ends. Don't run away, shamed and disheartened. Rest in my love, trust me again. I came to call sinners, not just the virtuous. I came to bring peace, not to condemn. Each time you fail to live by my promise Why do you think I'd love you the less? Come as you are, that's how I love you. Come as you are, trust me again. Nothing can change the love that I bear you. All will be well, just come as you are. INTRODUCTORY RITES

OPENING PRAYER God of love and mercy, look kindly on your servant, our dear friend Dot, who has departed from us, and is now at rest with you. As she served you faithfully throughout her life, may you give her the fullness of your peace. We give thanks for her life and loving presence in our lives, as she is now caught up in your eternal love. We remember her fondly and make our prayer in the name of Jesus who is our risen Lord now and forever.

All: Amen LITURGY OF THE WORD FIRST READING – Jodie Coughlan A reading from the Book of Apocalypse Happy are those who die in the Lord! I, John, heard a voice from heaven say to me: “Write down: Happy are those who die in the Lord! Happy indeed, the Spirit says; now they can rest forever after their work, since their good deeds go with them.”

The Word of the Lord. All: Thanks be to God.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM The Lord is My Shepherd (hymn) TIS: 659; Words: Psalm 23 Music: Brian Boniwell © 1949 Arr: Kevin Hunt

The Lord is my shepherd, and I want to follow, Wherever He leads me, wherever He goes. Over the mountains, the waters and byways. Valleys and highways, He’s waiting for me. Refrain: I want to go to meet Him there, To lay myself down in His love. The Lord is my shepherd, and I want to follow, Wherever He leads me, wherever He goes. And while on the journey, to where we are going, He promised to be there to help us along. And over the mountains, we’ll walk on together, To know all the wonders He’s given to me. Refrain

SECOND READING – Kelley McPhee A Reading from the Letter of Saint Paul to the Philippians. For us, our homeland is in heaven, and from heaven comes the Saviour we are waiting for, the Lord Jesus Christ, and He will transfigure these wretched bodies of ours into copies of His glorious body. He will do that by the same power with which He can subdue the whole universe. The Word of the Lord All: Thanks be to God

GOSPEL (John 14: 1-6) A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John There are many rooms in my Father’s house. Jesus said to his disciples: “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God; have faith also in me. In my Father’s house there are many rooms. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and take you to myself, so that where I am you also may be. Where I am going you know the way.” Thomas said to him, “Master, we do not know where you are going; how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live.” “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” The Gospel of the Lord. All: Praise to You, Lord Jesus Christ.

OFFERTORY HYMN Here I Am Lord Text: Isaiah 6; Dan Schutte, b1947 Tune: Dan Schutte. b 1947; arr. By Michael Pope, SJ, John Weissrock © 1981, Daniel L. Schutte and New Dawn Music.

I, the Lord of sea and sky, I have heard my people cry. All who dwell in dark and sin, my hand will save. I, who made the stars of night, I will make their darkness bright. Who will bear my light to them? Whom shall I send? Refrain: Here I am Lord, is it I Lord?

I have heard you calling in the night. I will go Lord, if you lead me. I will hold your people in my heart.

I, the Lord of snow and rain, I have borne my people’s pain. I have wept for love of them, they turn away. I will break their hearts of stone; give them hearts for love alone. I will speak my word to them. Whom shall I send? Refrain I, the Lord of wind and flame, I will tend the poor and lame. I will set a feast for them. My hand will save. Finest bread I will provide, ’til their hearts be satisfied. I will give my life to them, whom shall I send? Refrain
