PREPARE/ENRICH® Group Program Do you recommend running a group made up of couples from different relationship stages? Bringing couples of various relationship stages together in one group can lead to a dynamic experience for all. For instance, engaged couples benefit from the dose of realism and interpersonal learning that happens when they witness how married couples cope with life’s stressors, honor their commitment, grow, heal, and express themselves. Engaged and dating couples reenergize those around them with their hope and optimism. Can we use this program if we do not have time for 10 sessions? The P/E Group Program outlines ten sessions but you may use only the sessions that work for the time you have. Do you recommend following the sessions in consecutive order? The first session is written as an introductory session and the last as a wrap-up. All other sessions need not be delivered in consecutive order. Can the P/E Group Program be used in a Retreat Format? The P/E Group Program lends itself well to a retreat format as it allows for a combination of teaching, small groups, and break-out time for couples. Should we provide couples with their full Couple’s Report-Group Edition or hand out only relevant pages for each session? This is a decision you will get to make. Keep in mind that, while the full document approach is easier to manage, the page-by- page approach reduces the distraction of couples reading ahead as well as the potential issue of having couples forget to bring documents for future sessions. The Couple Exercises for the Group Program do not have biblical references. Where can I find these? Couple Workbooks with Biblical references integrated into the content for each topic are available as a PDF when you log in to your Facilitator account under “Feedback materials”. Can I customize the PowerPoint for the Group Program? Absolutely. After you have received and saved the PowerPoint to your computer, you can add extra content and slides as needed to tailor the program to your setting. Reminder: Integrate stories into your presentations. People want to hear about real relationships. They relate to and remember stories, whether they are about your family of origin, your own relationship, or other couples you have counseled or mentored. Have fun with this and remember to use good judgment in terms of protecting the privacy of others and sharing appropriately. Trainer’s Profile

PREPARE/ENRICH® Group ProgramDo you recommend running a group made up of couples from different relationship stages?

The P/E Group Program lends itself well to a retreat format as it allows for a combination of

teaching, small groups, and break-out time for couples.

Should we provide couples with their full Couple’s Report-Group Edition or hand out only relevant pages for each session?

This is a decision you will get to make. Keep in mind that, while the full document approach is easier to manage, the page-by-page approach reduces the distraction of couples reading ahead as well as the potential issue of having couples forget to bring documents for future sessions.

The Couple Exercises for the Group Program do not have biblical references. Where can I find these?

Couple Workbooks with Biblical references integrated into the content for each topic are available as a PDF when you log in to your Facilitator account under “Feedback materials”.

Can I customize the PowerPoint for the Group Program?Absolutely. After you have received and saved the PowerPoint to your computer, you can add extra content and slides as needed to tailor the program to your setting.

Reminder: Integrate stories into your presentations. People want to hear about real relationships. They relate to and remember stories, whether they are about your family of

origin, your own relationship, or other couples you have counseled or mentored. Have fun with this and remember to use good judgment in terms of protecting the privacy of others and sharing appropriately.
