Substitution to wood: bamboo has been widely used

in China. The consumed amount in each year is

equivalent to 10 million m3 wood, which is almost 1/5 of

the annual logging production.

Bamboo has high mechanical properties and is a

good material for the production of composite panels.

China has become the biggest production base of
