FAITH FORMATION

Book of Job The book of Job is a vivid testimony to pain and a wrenching debate about suffering and its causes. Central to this debate are questions about the roles that God and humans play in causing human suffering and whether divine-human relationships can

proceed in the midst of overwhelming anguish.

The seven weekly discussions will be on Tuesdays 6:30-8:30 pm or Wednesdays 9:30-11:30 am in FEC 215. Sessions began on Oct. 2/3 through Nov. 13/14. TEXT: JOB by Kathleen M. O’Connor (Liturgical Press) is available in Saint Paul’s Gift Shop.

Ignatian Adventure

St. Ignatius of Loyola developed a one-month retreat. This adventure covers the retreat during 32 weeks, one week for each day of the retreat.

Eight months of weekly discussions will be on Thursday evenings 6:30-8:00 pm in FEC 215 beginning on Oct. 18 through May 30, 2019.

Vocation Discernment Group

If you are interested in exploring your vocation to the priesthood, single, religious life or married, Fr. Mark Wajda will be leading a discernment group on Oct. 25 at 7 pm in the Youth Center at Blessed Sacrament in Clermont. Following meetings will be on the fourth Thursday of the month, rotating locations in Leesburg, Ocala and Clermont.

Anyone aged 13-30 is welcome to attend to discern where God is calling them. Under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Contemplative Prayer

What is it? Where did it come from? Why is it important? What is the method? Is it difficult to learn?

Learn more on Oct. 27 from 9-11 am in the HFR. Deacon Mike Balchus will explain Contemplative Prayer, how it is different from any other way of praying, and why it is important in terms of Jesus telling us we have to die to ourselves. The presentation will include a Contemplative Prayer exercise. It is open to all Catholics who want to improve their lives and become closer to God through a time tested method of praying. JMJ Pregnancy Center is the life-affirming alternative to abortion. For 28 years, JMJ Pregnancy Center (now in Orlando and Kissimmee) has assisted mothers and families facing unexpected pregnancies. All of our services are free to anyone regardless of age, marital status, religion or race. We receive no government assistance and depend entirely on the Providence of God through the generosity of our donors. With your help, we have provided over $500,000 in support a year to the families we serve. During 2018, we have been honored to serve more than 4,000 clients.

Next weekend, Oct. 13/14, the Respect Life Ministry, CCW and KOC will be distributing baby bottles for donations to JMJ Pregnancy Center. Please accept one per family. We will collect the bottles three weeks later, Nov. 3-4. Please return the bottles, with or without donation, as they are borrowed and we must give account.
