She was born on 8 October 1892, Moscow, Russian Empire. Her father was a professor, and her mother was a concert pianist. Marina began writing poetry when she was six years old, but her mother didn`t like it. In 1908, aged 16, she studied literary history at the Sorbonne.
In 1911 she met Sergei Efron. The fell in love and got married , they had three
children: Ariadne, Irene and George.
In Russia, it was a terrible time, Marina lost many people dear to
her. She couldn`t live anymore. She committed suicide on August 1941.
Unfortunately, her work was not recognized during her life time. But now she is a famous Russian poet and novelist. I fell pride in the fact that this talented woman was born in Russia.
