Dear Mrs. Bowman,

I have loved my experience as a copywriter here at Borah High School and would like to be able to continue as a writer next year. I am thankful for all the hard work you have done for us and all the stuff you buy us.

Since I was the writer/editor for the blue team this last year, I have learned a lot and gained new skills. For my team I made sure there was a copy, did interviews, took pictures, and did other small tasks needed for each page assigned to us. I know I would be perfect for this job because I was perfect at it this past year. I know how things go around here and I would continue to learn and be apart of this awesome family.

I know what will be expected next year and that is to make it just as good or better than this year. I now know how to write a good copy vs. a bad one, and even write captions if the photographer is unable to. I would make sure that the copy won’t have errors and that no one is left out. If there are any changes that need to be made for the upcoming year though I am willing and ready to learn.

I really hope I am able to be apart of the yearbook family again next year. I will be able to show you more of what I can do. I hope to hear back from you soon!

Sincerly,

Marigwen Campbell

Self Analytical Evaluation

I got started in yearbook this year for my first time. I thought it looked like an interesting class so I signed up for it as a ninth grader to take my following sophomore year. Working in yearbook I have learned how to write a copy, write captions, and work in a team to finish our assigned pages in the yearbook. My team managed to get almost all of our deadlines completely done and turned in this year on time. For example we had our cover letter and resume due yesterday and I got it done and turned in a day early. I worked in a team with photogra-phers, a copywriter (me), and a layout creator. Our team was named Blue Team and we all did our work and if we needed it helped each other out. If you are a copywriter you have to make sure each page your team needs finished has a copy to complete it. Each of our pages got what we needed on them. It was a valuable course be-cause it taught me a lot, it taught me new definitions of things, how to further my writing, how to get along with some people you don’t like as much in the workplace, and how to write a resume and a cover letter. Hopefully I will be able to continue using these skills in my future.

Reflection # 1 -

Description – .

Achievement in Content Area Reflection - I think the best page I completed this year was my “Self Analytical Eavaluation” page. It was my best work because I took my time to write it and made sure it sounded good and that there were no spelling errors. I put thought into it and made it a good length so people will stay interested while reading it. My purpose was to tell you how I did in yearbook this year and my experiences in it. It wasn’t too hard for me to write it and I knew what to write. I went over it a couple times and made sure I spelled cor-rectly and didn’t over use any words. I talked about what I learned this year in the copy, (sentence 3) I also talked about some of our assignments that were due and who was on my team, (sentences 3 and 4.) I liked how I was able to make it long and talk about what I liked about the past year. This is my final copy of that page:

Reflection– .

Achievement in Content Area Reflection - I think a piece of mine that could still use work is my “Basketball Main Story.” I learned that I didn’t even put a heading or a title on it. I also needed to edit the sentences so they made more sense. Some of the words weren’t even spelled right. In the published piece it was read over by two other people who edited it and made any changes they thought were needed. If I was to change it any more I would probably put more thought into it and make it longer. I think the published piece is way better and neater than the original piece. The first thing I did when editing this piece was to add a title.

This is the first draft:

The girls Jv and Sophomore basketball team works very hard to play every game as good as well as they can. They get a lot of support on an off the court, from the players, coach, rowdies, parents, and any other fans. Your team becomes your family and you build healthier friendships throughout the year. You gain many new experiences and memories with your teammates. You come a long way and learn a lot about yourself and others while play-ing. If you work your hardest and don’t give up, your hard work will pay off.

Reflection # 4 -

Reflection – .

Achievements - This year in yearbook I feel like I contributed a lot. I did almost all of what was asked of me and tried my hardest each day. I was a copywriter and an editor. I wrote copy for each page my team was assigned or made sure someone was writing them. I did the side projects for our pages also and wrote captions when needed. I wrote all the surveys and had them sent out and also did all the interviews. I did anything else needed of me by my teach and teacher.

You will learn about what I did this year. You will hopefully see that I completed my job and am a hard worker.I learned about myself and how i’m good at what i do.I will use this whenever I am needed to edit or write anymore.

Reflection # 5 -

Description – .

This year some of the things that were hard for me were deadlines and making sure my copy was really good. The deadlines were hard because sometimes we weren’t able get everything we needed not just because of ourselves or team members but other people we needed information from for whatever page we needed to finish. I also procrastinate a lot so that makes it harder on me but I make sure to get done what I am determined to finish.

In this reflection I tell you about what was hard for me this year as a writer.I hope the reader sees i struggled but got through my battles.I learned a little about myself because I realized what was hard for me.I will use this to build on myself.
