Challenges

Rules for the grant were specific 50% of payouts must be based on “student

growth” $184,200 of our $288,000 is based on student

growth Recipients must be certified, contracted

employees of Marietta City Schools who provide instruction during 50% of their day.

Year 1 dollars must be spent and NOT rolled over

Leadership and Growth Award

This is the paperwork that each individual teacher must complete in order to “opt in” to TIF.

This paperwork is due by: 9/30/2011.

1. Complete the form.2. Create a SMART goal

that aligns with the reading and math OIP goals.

3. Create a SMART goal that aligns to the culture and climate objectives for your building.

Teachers will also undergo two 30 minute “observations” that align with walk-throughs already being completed throughout the district. This is in lieu of the OTES implementation for 2011-2012

Teachers can receive various amounts of compensation based upon their attendance and active participation on district and building level committees.95 % Attendance = $175(excluded: bereavement, military leave, religious holidays, short term disability, FMLA) $25,375

Leadership Committees:Serving in leadership positions and meeting established criteria and goals in those roles.

Those leadership committees may include some of the following:

DLT, BLT, TIF Team, RttT Team, FIT Team, DIT Team, Co-Teaching Teams, Walk Through Peers, Value Added Support Team, Building Innovation Team, New Teacher Mentors (PAR)

(Participation in these leadership roles are elected, appointed, and/or volunteered upon by

principals and teachers. They are on a rotation to allow for equal participation across the district.)

A $500 incentive will be paid for “At” expected growth at the building level.

A $2000 incentive will be paid for “Above” expected growth at the building level.

Marietta’s OIP Goals: Document #6

The district’s OIP goals are to used for the creation of the SMART goals. They focus on achievement. In order for our students to reach their achievement level, they must grow academically.
