My heart churns within Me...” (Hosea 11:1,3,4,8). We cannot read these words without feeling in our own hearts all the emotions we know toward our own children, or toward the ones to whom we would give spiritual birth through the Gospel — the love, the patience in helping them to take their first stumbling steps, the kissing of the wounds when they fall, the gentleness and love with which we lead them along, easing their burdens whenever we can, even bending down to their little heights to provide whatever care they need. God used these very words to describe His emotionally-induced provisions for His children. It was thrilling to take part in the India Missions Conference at Heritage University in Florence, AL, April 21-24. About 60 were present, some of Indian origin, and some were missionaries who have worked for India for many years. The reports on progress in the work were so very encouraging. I am very thankful that Jerry and Paula are Stateside again. They had a busy trip to Sri Lanka, then to Myanmar to teach two weeks in the Bible school there. They moved west to India, to Shil- long, Imphal, Madurai, Visak, and Kakinada. Dear Ones, Through the prophet Hosea, God described His patient and gentle care for His people: When Israel was a child, I loved him.... I taught Ephraim to walk, taking them by their arms; but they did not know that I healed them. I drew them with gentle cords, with bands of love, and I was to them as those who take the yoke from their neck. I stooped and fed them... • Reports from Brothers OverseasRajanayagam in Tamil Nadu, South India

I am happy to tell that SIX precious souls have been added to the Lords body, TWO in the town of Karaikal, Pondycheri State and FOUR Yesterday in Mayiladuthurai by the result of the meetings I had last week and all these areas are East Coast belt of Tamil Nadu. A lectureship was held in Perambur, Chennai and was attended by around 200. I was one of the speakers. The church there made good arrange-ments on its own. Then we went to Chennai where Racheal and I participated and had meeting and ladies class. The ladies meeting was represented by at least six congregations and was very useful. I had a three days trip to East coast area from 21st-23rd and had meetings in 4 different towns called Karaikal, Tiruvarur, Thiruthuraipoondi and Mayiladuthurai. Thiruthuraipoondi and Tiruvarur are towns where the sound

Gospel was totally untaught and as for I know NO Lords churches are functioning although there are many thousand souls. It seems some efforts were made sometime back during Tsunami time, but nothing fruitful. Pray for these lost ones.

Earnest Gill and the North India Preachers lectureshipThis time, a couple of weeks before the lectureship we all had virus one by one. Even during the lectureship I had a bad cough.

Brother Russel Bell was suggesting me to avoid much speaking, but it all went well. About 100 people from Bihar, Chhattisgarh, MP, Maharashtra, Punjab, Chandi-garh, UP, Nepal- near UP border, Chennai, Bangalore showed up. Brothers from Mumbai and Nagpur were also present this time.

It was almost for the first time that we realized that the church is in existence in Nagpur. Brother Pardeep came with his wife and 5-6 years old daughter. Many came with their families this time. And it was good for everybody to see each other. Brother Russel Bell and brother John ONeal were here from the US.

We asked brother Victor Venkatesh from Banga-lore to speak for the ladies among the mixed audience (Brother Venkatesh teaches New Testament Greek and we encourage him to be a visiting teacher and teach sometimes). He did well. Benu also had a separate class for the ladies. In addition, Monica and Sonia were asked to teach in the ladies and childrens classes. Sister Shalu from Mumbai also helped them. Benu used sister Rushmores book on Ruth she recently got, so the lectureship was a rich experience for the ladies as well. Everybody enjoyed the fellowship and informed me after their reaching home.

Left: Jerry, Paula, and Philemon with our preacher brother who suffers with rheumatoid arthritis. Right: Brother Basil Overton continues to teach, as his book Conversions in Acts is released in Shillong, India.

  • From Vinay David in New Delhi, IndiaWell, Ill be busy with 2 days meeting starting from tomorrow. We have invited all our Delhi TV contacts for this meetings, so

please keep us in your prayers. Wayne Barrier, Robin Dunaway, and Ricky Berger got here in Delhi this afternoon. They are doing fine, and we look forward to have great time in the meetings with them. [Later: Had a good meeting today. Around 30 people gath-ered and we hope to have more joining us tomorrow since Saturday is an off-day for some people.]

In regards to the Bible seminar that took place in Central part of India, brother Francis, and brother Roger Wright from Indiana, and I conducted 3 days Bible seminar. Our train ride took us 32 hours to get close to this place, and from there we went by car for about 2 hours more to actually get to our destination. You can see it was a hard and a difficult travel but as strong soldiers of Christ we kept marching forward because we knew that we had a task in hand: the task of saving the souls through the powerful and saving message of the Gospel.

We started the seminar by 10 in the morning, and we finished by 7 in the evening. Since the local congregation is not financially strong, we took care of the arrangements: breakfast, lunch, and din-ner. For 2 days we had about 150 people, and then for the final day we had about 200 people. Six people from Hindu background obeyed the Lord, so it was just wonderful to see these people making the right decision in their lives.

We also utilized Sunday, and worshipped together with the lo-cal church. In fact, we even conducted a meeting on Sunday evening again because people wanted to hear more. People really loved and appreciated Bro. Rogers lessons. I am personally very thankful to him for making this difficult trip with us. We really admire his love, dedication, and sincerity for the Lord.

    B. Arjunan in Batlagundu, South IndiaHere we would like to share about our Gods ministry this

month. I went to Erode District and met our TV viewers in an interior place with Brother Thangaraj who is doing ministry in this area. Here most of the people are illiterate and many are idolaters. On the way we could see an old man, who was cook-ing food for him. I took Bible study for our viewers there.

On third Sunday we went to Theni District to preach the Word of God in Anamalaiyanpatti Church of Christ. This is our gospel journey with Church members. We have planned to go there every month with them since it is baby congregation.

The young students those who are writing their Public Ex-amination now came to our local congregation for special prayer. They have been coming for two months interestingly. Please pray for these youngsters to be saved and also for scoring high marks in their examination. They have been helping for the last months in preparing magazine for mailing with our local believers.

Gods Providence at Work: Please Read Randal Mathenys ReportPORTO ALEGRE, Brazil (BNC) Daniel Araujo in southern Brazil watched some videos posted on YouTube by World Video Bible School, based in Maxwell, Tex. A video about premillenialism convinced him. He contacted WVBS for information about the church in his city. He wrote, Since watching your videos on YouTube and studying in other sources Ive been bothered. Thats the prob-lem with the truth, it sets you free. Where I live, state and city, all churches preach premillennialism and the rapture, so I need your help! For some time now the whole subject has been troublesome as I couldnt understand what would happen to those left behind. Now that Im free from that mistake, I can no longer admit participating in those churches services. But I also dont want to be without a house of prayer. So what does one need to open a church of Christ? What do I have to know or do? Please, help. I want to do Gods work and I want to do it right. WVBSs Al Washington asked brethren at the Sherman Drive congregation in Denton, TX about a contact in Brazil. Theyre one of our [Randals; and they also help with funds for our work with the North India Bible College] supporting churches. Al emailed me March 24, and the same day I emailed Daniel for a first contact.

Brother Roger Wright works with the church in Vin-cennes, Indiana, which supports one of the weekly Hindi TV programs and also supportive outreach.

  • He quickly replied to my email.I was actually going the wrong way about the understanding of the gospel. Believing in things that are not

biblical at all. I cant do that. I wont do that. So, please, lead me in the direction of some church who preaches the pure and true gospel. Or please

teach me how to open a branch of the Church of Christ here where I live. Anything so I can get closer to Jesus. I only know I have to talk to my current pastor and say I have to leave as my heart is changed (God only knows how that conversation will go, but I intend to make it peaceful).

I just want to do the right thing. Be my brothers and help me. Please.I then emailed several brethren in or near the city of Porto Alegre, state capital of Rio Grande do Sul. (We are located near So Paulo, some distance from the city.)On March 26 Almir Barbosa emailed me from Porto Alegre.

Im already in contact with Daniel and helping him with his doubts and questions. We pray he may learn Gods will and be a faithful Christian.I saw Almir Apr. 4 at the National Christian Workers Encounter near So Paulo, and he told me that Daniel and his wife were meeting with them in their congregation. We look forward to more news about them in the gospel. After only two days since Als initial contact, Almir had done follow-up on the ground with Daniel. Everyone was kept in the loop as the emails ew back and forth. Al wrote that he was sure that Daniel was impressed with the prompt replies and follow-up.On April 7 Daniel wrote to every-one involved.

The Lord not only revealed His truth clear as crystal, but also indicated me where to go. For that I praise the Lord and here I thank each and every one of you for the support and love. I follow steady our Lord Jesus Christ and now Im attending the Church of Christ. In a lengthy Facebook chat, Daniel commented, God opened my eyes because I was searching for the truth. This serves [as an example] for everyone.UPDATE: On Sunday, April 12, Daniel and his wife were immersed for the remission of sins, after a study with several of the brothers of the congregation where they were attending. Praise God for such working together!

The Gospel is our mission. The world is our home.

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and

    of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you;

and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.

I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you (John 14:18).

[Angels are] ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation... (Hebrews 1:14).
