The time is finally here!

Tomorrow a group of 22 people from St. Peter’s will be heading out to our annual Senior mission trip in Jamaica. This trip will be an excellent opportu-nity for both students and adults to step out of their comfort zone and for the Holy Spirit to open our hearts and minds.

This week will be a busy one for our group in Hampstead, Jamaica. From visit-ing the local schools to building a house for an elderly member of their com-munity, which will keep us busy during the day. In the evenings, the students and adults will meet for fellowship and times of worship and Bible study.

Our group will not only be doing work there, but also contributing to the Hampstead community by donating backpacks, shirts, and literacy tools. Our hope is not to only solve an immediate need for the community but help them solve daily needs even after we leave.

We are not only looking forward to the lasting memories our group will create during this week, but also the spiritual growth they will have during the week. As the members of our group are outside their comfort zone, I am confident that the Holy Spirit will guide them to a closer relationship with Him. We also hope that their sense of community intensifies during the week and that this trip will create a desire to continue living in a community of faith.

To those of you who have supported this trip by participating in our fundraisers, or donated individually to a student, THANK YOU!

As we are in Jamaica, I kindly ask you to keep us in your prayers. Please pray for safe travels as we head to Jamaica and back, and safety during our time there; for all of our hearts to be open and receptive to what the Holy Spirit might show us as we are away; and that we all may come back with renewed hearts and minds.

We can’t wait to come back home and share the good news of what Jesus is doing in Jamaica.

TOWN HALL MEETINGOn March 28, St. Peter’s will participate in the 4th Annual Katy Charity Bubble Run 5k/10k and Kid’s Dash. This is a joint fundraiser that benefits several of our community partner ministries including: Hope Impacts, Clothed by Faith, and Christ Clinic, among others. This will be the third time that St. Peter’s will be joining the run to help support our ministry partners.

This event is an excellent opportu-nity for the members of St. Peter’s to come together in fellowship outside of Wednesday evening ac-tivities and Sunday morning wor-ship. This will also allow members to have a chance to learn more about the different organizations St. Peter’s partners with as it at-tempts to connect the world with God’s love.

“Every year we have participated in Katy Bubble Run, we end up having a blast as a church,” said Alex Zeisig, West Campus Pastor. “For the last two years in a row, our church has been the group with the most participants, and I am certain that we will be able to continue our streak this year.”

St. Peter’s group will split into two teams, Team Gold and Team Blue. Team Gold will be led by Dr. Pat Sparks, Austin Kincannon, David Galasso, and Parker Zim-merman, while Team Blue will be led by Alex Zeisig, Jamison Doehring, Whitney Peper, and Stephen Walker. When you sign up, you will be able to choose which team you would like to join.

“Even though we are divided by teams, we are participating as one united group, which at the end is the important thing,” said Alex. “However, until the day of the race, I am going to recruit as many people as possible for the Blue Team.”

This will be a family event that you won’t want to miss, as there will also be a Kid’s Dash race for the children. After the race, there will be a post-race party with food trucks, vendors, a kid’s fun zone, and live entertainment.

To sign up for the race, you may visit their website. As you are signing up for the race, make sure you click the “Join Group/Team” link during your registration and join either the Gold or Blue teams.

This Sunday at St. Peter's...We will continue our sermon series, Verified.

Throughout the Gospel according to John, Jesus makes radical, world-altering claims about who He is - and God's purpose for all of us - through seven different "I Am" statements.

This Sunday we will look at what Jesus meant when he said is the Gate for the Sheep.

We hope to see you this Sunday!

Lent Study of JohnThis Lent Season we are studying the book of John on Facebook. As we go through the fourth book of the Gospel, we would like for you to share your insights and ask any questions you might have on the text. Rev. Bob Johnson will be leading our discussions, and we will all be helping each other answer the difficult questions we might see in the Scripture.

This group is created to help us all grow as one in this community of faith.

To join the group, like our Facebook page, and click where it says, “Lent 2020 Study of John.”
