Thank you to everyone for their participation in the second annual North Synergy Family Fun Fest It was an amazing success and everyone enjoyed the festivities A special thank you to our PTO for their support during this event Also thank you to everyone for another successful ArtESOLInternational Night We enjoyed hearing the chorus sing for their final performance for the 2018-2019 school year We hope everyone has a safe and restful Spring Break As always we will be running full speed when we return as we begin to wind down the 2018-2019 school year Teachers will be sending out more information about the End of Grade assessments for 3rd ndash 5th graders which begins April 15th Our students are ready to show what they know and rock out this assessment During this time we will not have visitors or mentors in the building Kindergarten registration is here Parents are asked to make an appointment at

the Hill Center Early morning and evening appointments will be available to

Our Spring Georgia Milestones Assessment System testing window opens soon and we are

making final preparations for a successful testing season The Georgia Milestones Assessment

System is a comprehensive assessment system spanning grades 3 through high school Students

in grades 3 through 8 will take End-of-Grade (EOG) assessments in EnglishLanguage Arts

Mathematics Science and Social Studies

Georgia Milestones is an online assessment designed to measure and provide information about

how well students are mastering the state adopted content standards in the four core content

areas Importantly Georgia Milestones is designed to provide students with critical information

about their own achievement and readiness for their next level of learning

Georgia Milestones includes the following features

The information below is provided to assist you and your student in becoming familiar with the

features of online testing

A website called Experience Online Testing Georgia has been established to provide an

opportunity for students to become familiar with the online testing platform The website can be

found at the link httpwwwgaexperienceonlinecom and can be accessed at home

Experience Online Testing Georgia is available 7 days a week and does not require a log-in It

is intended to allow students to familiarize themselves with the online platform prior to testing

We ask that you make every effort to ensure that your student gets a good nightrsquos rest and

arrives at school on time each day for testing The EOG tests will be administered based on the

Forsyth County School System provides many measures of test security which include

providing extensive training for school-level testing coordinators limiting access to test

materials and system-level administrative oversight on test days

As a reminder the Georgia Department of Education does not allow students to have electronic

devices (phones smart watches fit bits etc) during state testing Please pay attention to your

schoolrsquos plan to meet this requirement

Car Rider Line Safety Reminder

It is the busiest time of the year so we must take extra caution to keep our children safe and our car line running smoothly Please do not pull into a handicapped parking space Handicapped parking spots are reserved for handicapped designated vehicles only

Also If you are parking and walking your child in make sure you pull into a parking space do not park your car in the middle of the parking lot as this could cause an accident

Please accompany your child all the way to the crosswalk For your childrsquos safety we cannot allow them to walk unaccompanied by an adult

The vehicles in the car line will have the right of way so please prepare to wait to avoid a backup You might discover the car line is the more efficient choice

We will be changing our birthday special occasion book club at Coal Mountain This is a

great way to help out our school library and at the same time honor the birthday special

occasion of your child At the beginning of your childrsquos birthday special occasion month your

child will be able to choose a book from a special new book collection The book will receive a

unique inscription inside with your childrsquos name and birth date Your child will be the very first

to check it out from the library In addition a picture will be taken of your child with their book
