I. General Precautions. 1. Keep workplace clean and tidy. Accidents are more frequent in
disorganized places. 2. Do not leave your Portable Pipe Threader in the rain. Do not work
with machine in damp places. Do not operate machine near inflammable fluids or gas.
3. Merax Portable Pipe Threader must be stored in a dry and clean place.
4. The operator must not fix the machine,or else the guarantee will be void (except carbon brush change).
5. Do not use power supply cord to lift the machine. Protect the power cord from any contact with oil or sharp areas to avoid damage.
6. Handle machine carefully. The machine and its accessories must always be clean. Check power supply cord and plug periodically.

install it to the right of the machine.
2. Lock the support bracket securely, making the spindle parallel to
the pipe.
3. Fit the pipe into die head and lead the support bracket spindle
into the oval hole on the top of Merax Portable Pipe Threader. 4. Move the switch (1) to the work position (arrow forward).

5. With your left hand, turn the Portable Pipe Threader on, pressing the auxiliary side button (2) with the trigger (3).
6. When the machine starts working, press the die head until the die head cuts one or two threads, DO NOT INTERRUP OPERATION UNTIL THE PIPE IS SQUARE WITH THE CUTTER OR FILLS THE DIE HEADS. . Use Oil Threader constantly until the end of the threading operation for the cooling of the die heads.
7. After finishing the operation, release the trigger, wait until cutter
comes to a complete stop, turn switch to the "reset" position (arrow backward), press trigger and auxiliary button again to reset machine and remove pipe.
8. PIPE SHEAR: Install the pipe shear assembly on your Merax
Portable Pipe Threader. Confirm the length of the pipe to be sheared, install pipe shear adapter to the feed site of the machine, clamp and centralize the pipe in the adapter with the set bolts, according to the length to be cut. Use your left hand to press the auxiliary side button and the trigger, turning the machine on. With your right hand, place pipe notcher in the cutting posittion and give notcher handle 1/4 turn each time pipe turns around, until pipe is sheared.

Problem Possible cause Probable Solution
Die head cannot be installed.
Lock position is wrong and this is blocking die head.
Set lock position.
Pipe slides during operation.
1. Pipe is not adequately fastened; 2. Thread/screw of the support bracket is damaged; 3. After Pipe Threader has begun threading, support bracket moves a little;
1. Fasten pipe again. 2. Change support bracket. 3. Fasten support bracket again.
Die head does not fit in pipe
1. Pipe chamfer is too wide 2. Die head is loose.
1. Cut the chamfer.
2. Tighten die head screw.
Thread is not well made.
1. Die head is damaged 2. Die head is dirty/impregnated with chips.
1. Replace die
head.
2. Clean die head.

WARRANTY
MERAX Portable Pipe Threaders have a 6-month guarantee in Brazil after the date of issue of invoice or delivery of the product to the final consumer.
This warranty applies to manufacturing, materials, parts and workmanship defects, when adequately proven.
This warranty does not apply to damages provoked by inadequate transportation, accidents of any type, misuse, electrical installation oscillations, use of wrong voltage, bad quality of compressed air, the removal or alteration of the series number of the machine, and the non-compliance with the instructions herein contained.
This warranty does not apply to any component that deteriorates under normal use.
