Managed Internet Service (MIS) & Ethernet Access MIS (EaMIS) This service is available throughout all States, except Hawaii and Alaska. Managed Internet Service (MIS) is an Internet access service that combines a high-speed, dedicated connection with consolidated application management. It lets you reliably access information resources and communicate with Internet users worldwide. MIS includes proactive, 24x7 network monitoring, enhanced network security features, and maintenance of the communications link between your locations and the AT&T network. MIS is available in two service types. MIS with Managed Router provides end-to-end managed Internet access. We configure, install, and manage your on-site router, Channel Service Unit/Data Service Unit (CSU/DSU), and diagnostic modem. MIS with Customer-Managed Router provides managed Internet access but allows you to provide and manage your own on- site equipment. AT&T is a Tier 1 Internet service provider with a high-performing OC-768/192 IP network. Our IP backbone uses IP over Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) facilities in a ring configuration. This architecture delivers the reliability, quality, and performance that you need to conduct business over the Internet. Should network trouble occur, we provide swift, state-of-the- art problem detection, diagnosis, and resolution. To help you manage your AT&T account and your contracted services, we provide AT&T Business Direct (REG), a suite of online tools that you can use 24x7. Business Direct gives you access to billing, maintenance, network management, and performance reporting information. It is now possible to request the transfer of LAN IP addresses from DIA to MIS for customers who are migrating. Customers who need to upgrade service, or are moving to a new location may request to retain their IP addresses when moving from DIA to MIS. This request to retain IP addresses must be made before the MIS order is placed. EaMIS service is MIS delivered over Ethernet access. It is not available everywhere that MIS service is offered. Therefore the service address must qualify for this service. In order to determine if the location qualifies, please send to the AT&T account team the address along with NPA/NXX and we let you know if the site qualifies. MIS & EaMIS Options Private Network Transport (PNT)- When installed on MIS or EaMIS connection removes Internet access and converts the service to a MPLS connection. All traffic is routed over the AT&T private IP backbone OC768 network. This connection operates as a network based IP VPN, and is a pure layer 3 solution. It is MPLS based with unique VPN IDs to enforce traffic separation and does not use IP sec. This traffic can be directed to the client sites, with no connectivity to ISP or back to the ISP host site. When multiple clients are connected to a single host site, Unlink service is required to provide the individual VLANs to separate the client’s data. Class of Service (COS)- When installed on MIS or EaMIS connection will prioritize the individual PVCs separating real time data from other applications. Must select the COS from a list of pre-determined configurations.

MIS with Customer-Managed Router provides managed Internet access but allows you to provide and manage your own on-site equipment.

Should network trouble occur, we provide swift, state-of-the-art problem detection, diagnosis, and resolution.

MIS & EaMIS Options

Private Network Transport (PNT)- When installed on MIS or EaMIS connection removes Internet access and converts the service to a MPLS connection.
