Dear players, staff, guest, families and volunteers Welcome to the 2nd Mamanet USA Cup I congratulate Mamanet Los Angeles, Galit Peled and an amazing team of players for organizing one of Mamanet's biggest tournaments with 22 teams from across the United States who faithfully represent Mamanet's transformation into a recognized and valued international phenomenon. This tournament is part of a chain of international operations of Mamanet which expanding every day. The process that began few year ago in Lignano, Italy, has expanded its operations both in an increase number of leagues established around the world and in terms of the international seminars, international conferences, professional trainings and more. This tournament is an important step on our way to the CSIT World Sport Games where MAMANET was recognized as an official branch This tournament is marked by the start of a new decade in MAMANET. The last decade was devoted almost entirely to building and integration of mothers league all over -When any such league is active and produces influential circles within the local community / region in which it operates. This decade will be devoted to implement the values of “olympism” in each and every Mamanet league around the world. olympism” is a way of life that combines three areas: sports, culture and education and thus produces a better world. That is where MAMANET put into practice the spirit “olympism” –doing sport and nurturing values of social behavior by mothers. The spirit of olympism is not reserved only for professional athletes or the young athletes – this spirit deserves to shine on all of us and it will give our children and our families a better life and better world. Mamanet League since its inception used to leverage social values. You- the players –are the sports agency and thus give effect to children, families and in your community and especially to you. The Israeli Mamanet was established in 2005 and has since spread to thousands of players across Israel and the world. The Mamanet league is the largest social – sports organization in Israel targeting moms specifically. It is a unique and innovative league of mothers, which combines sports, health and community involvement. Mamanet 2nd USA Cup is coming to Los Angeles. Last Year the 1st Mamanet USA cup was hosted in New Jersey and was a great success. This year Mamanet Los Angeles will be hosting the 2019 games for the entire North America Mamanet leagues. Game Formula:

22 teams will be divided into 7 Pools.

A Set is won by the team which first scores the required amount of points (according to each Phase) with a minimum lead of two points. In the case of a tie, play is continued until a two-point lead is achieved (22-20; 23-21; 26-24;25-27;16-14;17-15; etc.)

Phase A – Pools

The Pools assignation will be performed according to a preliminary draw in which every pool will include teams from different Regional Leagues. The Technical Committee (TC) will aim to avoid assignation of teams from the same league in the same pool, subject to the TC discretion.

Every team will compete against all other teams in their respective pool (Round Robin).

The Champion and Second Runner-up from last year’s cup games will be assigned as Head of each Branch. In case the cup champion did not re-register for the cup tournament, the team which had been registered for the tournament as number “1” by the registering Regional League of last year’s champion, will be nominated as Head of Branch.

The matches will be played on a best-of-three Sets basis, comprised of: 2 sets up to 21 points with a minimum 2-point lead and a 3rd set of up to 15 points with a minimum 2-point lead.

Phase B – Elimination

Champion of each Pool and Second Runner-up of pool G automatically qualifies to the 1/8 FINALS

Champion of pool G automatically qualifie to the 1/4 FINALS

Second to fourth place will compete in an Elimination match for the right to qualify for the next phase – the teams assignation will be performed by cross-competing the runner-up between the pools in the two branches - Pools A through D and E through G, the Second Runner-up of Pool A against the Third Runner-up of pool D, the Second Runner-up of Pool E against the Third Runner-up of pool G etc.

The matches are comprised of: 1 Set up to 25 points with a 2-point minimum lead.

Phase C – Eights-FINALS

The winners from the Elimination Phase will compete in another Elimination match against the champions from the Pools Phase.

The losers from the Elimination Phase will compete in final ranking games 17-23 (subject to time availability).

The matches are comprised of: 1 Set up to 25 points with a 2-point minimum lead.

Phase D – Quarter-FINALS

The winners from the 1/8 FINALS Phase will cross-compete against each other by their rankings.

The losers from the 1/8 FINALS Phase will compete in final ranking games9-16 (subject to time availability).

The winners from the 1/4 FINALS Phase will compete against each other.

The losers from the 1/4 FINALS Phase will compete in final ranking games 5-8.


Phase F – FINALS

The winners from the 1/2 FINALS Phase will compete for the Championship title

The losing team will be the Second Runner-up.

The losers from the 1/2 FINALS Phase will compete in final ranking games 3-4.


Score Calculation Formula in the Pools Phase:

Table Points: The teams will be rewarded as follows:

o Win - 2 points

o Loss - 1 point

o Technical Loss - 0 points

In case of a Technical Loss determined for both teams of the match, neither of the teams will receive any

points and the match final result will be 0:0 in both points and Sets.

At the end of the Pools Phase, the rankings of the teams will be determined by the total sum of points

accumulated by each team.

o In case of a table points tie between two or more teams, the qualifying team to the next Phase will

be the one with the highest own Set (Win to Lose) Ratio.

o In case of a Set Ratio tie, the qualifying team to the next Phase will be the one with the highest

Match Points (Win to Lose) ratio.

o In case of a Match Points Ratio tie, the qualifying team to the next Phase will be the winner of the

match between the relevant teams.

o In case the tie persists, a qualifying match will take place between each of the relevant teams or a

raffle will take place according to the TC decision.

General:

Championship will follow MAMANET Technical Instructions, Regulations and Rules of the Game. (see:

http://www.mamanet.org.il/International.asp)

Wherever not specified otherwise, matches will be held in accordance with MAMANET Rules of the Game,

on a best-of-three Sets basis, comprised of: 2 sets up to 21 points with a minimum 2-point lead and a 3rd set of up to 15 points with a minimum 2-point lead.

Should the matches be prolonged more than estimated, the games will be shortened in either length or score, subject to the TC decision.

It is under each team’s responsibility to bring balls for the purpose of warm up. The time for warm up will be determined by the Tournament Manager during the competition.

It is under each team’s responsibility to bring their own uniform set according to the rules of the game chapter 4.3. Each team can add the following logos to their uniforms: sponsor logo and Mamanet logo. Any other logos are forbidden

A team shall appear on their relevant court 45 minutes prior to their match starting time. Under no circumstances will a court stand empty. Upon a completed match, all following matches will be preceded respectively for the whole pool and the teams will be responsible for getting updated with the new game times and schedule.

A team which will be absent 45 minutes prior to their match starting time at the Tournament reception desk, even if arrived on time for their match) will suffer a Technical Loss.

The TC reserves the right to change the games schedule or match starting times including the formation of Pools, even after publishing the games schedule, subject to its own discretion.

The TC will also function as the Appeal Committee of the tournament. An appeal will be possibly accepted only up to 15 minutes following a completed match and under no circumstances will an appeal be served after a phase has already been completed. The appeal procedure according to MAMANET Rules of the Game – A protest regarding the application or interpretation of the rules will be possible only at the end of the match and only if the Referee has been firstly informed by the Captain at the end of the relevant rally during the match.

Professional Crew must be registered on the MAMANET website.

Every player participating in the tournament shall be registered on the MAMANET website. Additionally, the player has to be registered for the tournament itself on the MAMANET website, having completed the required payment. – A player who has not completed the above conditions will not be able to participate in the tournament. A violation of any of the above terms will result in expulsion of the player from the games and a technical loss to the respective team

A player who has registered herself with her team shall not play in any other team(s) but her own. The registration on the website will be the sole determinant condition unless another explicit confirmation has been issued in writing by the tournament Prof. Director.

Each participant is responsible for obtaining insurance that covers the Tournament and all relevant activities.
