Plug and Transact Token™

As security is a top priority within NetBank Business, weemploy an advanced protection system that integratesnumerous precautions such as security tokens, software andhardware certificates, and passwords, to give you peace ofmind. A key principle of our two-tier security is somethingyou have, and something you know, which has beenexceptionally successful for us.

Something you have — The token with a certificate.Something you know — The token PIN and backend

password.

Some key benefits• The Plug and Transact Token™ is a plug and play solution,

which means it requires an initial setup only.• The token does not have any drivers that must be installed

for it to work.• The token contains a configured Nedbank browser that

stores your certificate. • The token is mobile. Once inital setup has been completed,

the token can be used on any desktop (Windows/AppleMac) with no additional steps or certificate downloadsrequired.

• No special internet settings are required as the browser isalready configured.c

Step 1: Initialising the token• Insert the token into the uSB port and wait a few seconds

until the blue light on the token comes on.• If the ‘Change PIN’ screen pops up, continue to the next

step and change your PIN.• If autorun is enabled, the secure browser will open. If the

secure browser does not automatically open, your autorunis disabled. Please enable it as follows:— Windows computer: click on ‘Start’ > ‘Computer’

‘D/E drive’ > ‘Nedbank secure browser’.— Apple computer: click on ‘Start’ > ‘Computer’ >

‘CD Part’ > ‘Start Nedbank secure browser’.• To create a shortcut right-click on ‘Nedbank Secure

Browser’ and click on ‘Send to desktop as shortcut’.

• change your PIN by following these steps: — click on ‘Change PIN’.

Step 1: Initialising the token

— enter the default PIN 123456 in the ‘Old PIN’ field.

— enter your new PIN (6 to 8 characters) in the ‘New PIN’ and ‘Repeat New User PIN’ fields, then click on ‘OK’.

— If the PIN was changed successfully, you will get the below popup message.

Step 2: Accessing the NetBank Business landing page

• If it is the first time you are plugging the token into the Pc, you will be required to update the token to ensure you havethe latest software version.

• Please do not click on anything yet; wait for the tokenactivation and update popup to appear. You might need tominimize this screen to get to the token activation popup.

• click on ‘Continue’ when you receive the below message.

Note: If there is an update for your token software, you will receive the same message. click on ‘Continue’ to update the software.

Step 2: Accessing the NetBank Business landing page (continued)

• enter your new PIN and click on ‘OK’.

• When the token is used for the first time, the below screen will appear.

• The device activation should take about one minutedepending on the speed of your connection.

• Please wait for this process to finish before removing thetoken from the Pc.

• The update screen shows that the software is updating. The update should take no longer than 10 minutes dependingon the speed of your connection.

• Please wait for this process to finish before removing thetoken from the Pc.




• Once the download is complete, the below screen will appear. The installation should take about one minutedepending on the speed of your computer.

• Please wait for this installation to finish before removingthe token from the Pc.

• Once the installation is complete, the below screen will appear.

• You may remove the token from your Pc at this point. • The update will be effective only after the token has been

removed and plugged back into the Pc. However, you maycontinue using the token as normal without doing this.


• Once the update has been completed successfully, you will be required to download a certificate.

• Select the NetBank Business url to go to the website.Please note: You will not be allowed to use any browsers to access

NetBank Business other than the Nedbank secure browserthat is on the token.

• The NetBank Business website will open.

• Select which certificate to download from the dropdown box and click on ‘Download’. ‘Certificate download’.



Step 3: Downloading a certificate For NetBank Business• You will be taken to the ‘Certificate enrolment’ screen.• To proceed you will need to enter your group/profile

number, user Id, as well as the password you used previously.

For NedTreasury• You will be taken to the enrolment screen;• The user Id is a 13 digit field which is a combination of the

profile number and the user number (eg: Profile nr: 2000001075 and user nr: 909 = user Id: 2000001075909);

• corporate Id refers to the NedTreasury profile number.(eg: 2000001075);

• existing users will use their existing password and all new users will receive a password letter containing a one time password to download the certificate.

• enter your new PIN.

• The certificate will be issued for your selected channel.

• read and accept the certificate enrolment terms and conditions.

• The certificate download is now complete.Step 4: Log on to NetBank Business or

NedTreasury• Select ‘Logon’ on the landing page.• If this screen doesn't appear, please click on the hyperlink

in the popup, as displayed in step 2.

• enter your new PIN.

• Select the correct certificate before you click on ‘OK’.

• enter your NedTreasury password and click on ‘Logon’.
