Clothing and Makeup Designs

Looking at our target audience and matching the clothing and makeup to this

Clothing

• We spoke to our media teacher at what he would expect for young people to wear as we wanted to create a ‘stereotypical’ view of a young person.

• He said lots of black/dark clothing to give off this ‘no care attitude’ that young people are known for having.

Clothing

• We also wanted to get ideas from our age group as this would be our target audience.

• They all said similar ideas that they like to wear dark clothing, we therefore decided to try and match this with the costume designs we put into our Digipak and music video.

Makeup designs• Now we had our design set on a ‘goth’ look

we needed to make sure our makeup would match this.

• We therefore decided to use dark eye shadow and lipstick.

• We also wanted to make the girl look pale and almost ill - this was achieved using a highlighter and contour kit.

Contouring

• We contoured the girls collar bones to make her look thin and fragile as this would relate to how most teenage girls are seen.

• The contour kit actually worked incredibly well and using it ensured that the highlighting showed up on camera.

On the day

• We plan to follow these ideas on the day of taking our Digipak pictures and hopefully it will work well with the effect we’re trying to create.
