PLAN YOUR TRIPThere are lots of ways to plan where to go, where to stay and what to do.

Simply head to a Tasmanian Visitor Information Network centre for local advice and tips.

Or go to discovertasmania.com.au/road-trips for more inspiration and to plan your road trips across Tasmania.

Plan ahead. For current information about visiting national parks, go to Tasmania Parks and Wildlife’s Facebook page or visit parks.tas.gov.au

And always remember – travel times can be longer than you expect. Drive to the conditions, and allow plenty of time when travelling. Take it easy on winding, gravel or icy roads in bad weather. Slow down and look out for wildlife on the road – especially at dawn and dusk. And where possible, avoid driving at night.

Information on active community alerts and road closures is available from the Tasmania Police or TasALERT websites.
