Supplies: patterned paper (Pink Paislee); punch (EK Success); ink (Clears- nap); vintage lace (Laura’s Vintage Garden); transparency, chipboard flag banner, pearl charms (Jenni Bowlin); self-adhesive pearl (The Paper Studio); glitter glue (Ranger); embroidery floss (DMC); other: baker’s twine, felt leaves, vintage buttons I have always admired my grandparents—each one held a special place in my heart. I wanted this card to show some of those feelings, so I festooned it with lovely handmade roses. These roses have to be made with care, so they add a very special touch to a project. I also nestled the word “Admire” among the roses to convey my message of love. The pretty lace, buttons, and pearls I included add to the warm, pretty look of this card. I have always admired my grandparents—each one held a special place in my heart.

What You’ll Needpatterned paper, fl ower punch, ink, scissors, liquid adhesive, glitter glue

Punch 3 fl owers out of patterned paper using a fl ower punch. Apply ink to the edges of all 3 fl owers.

Cut between 2 petals to the center of the fi rst fl ower (Flower 1). Cut the second fl ower into 2 pieces—one piece with 4 petals (Flower 2) and one piece with 1 petal (Flower 3). Cut the third fl ower into 2 pieces—one piece with 3 petals (Flower 4) and one piece with 2 petals (Flower 5).

On Flower 1, apply liquid adhesive to the top of the fl ower petal to the left of the cut. Place the petal to the right of the cut on top of the petal to the left of the cut. Hold the petals in place until the glue dries. Drawing the fl ower together in this way will give it somewhat of a cone shape and will make the piece dimensional. Curl the fl ower petals outward from the center.

Repeat step 3 on fl owers 2 and 4. Roll Flower 5 (the piece with 2 petals) into a loose cone. Secure the cone with a bit of adhesive. Roll Flower 3 (the single petal) into a tight cone and secure it with liquid adhesive.

Trim the tips of fl owers 2, 3, 4 and 5. This will help each layer nest well into the others.

Place liquid adhesive in the center of Flower 1; place Flower 2 inside Flower 1.

Repeat step 6 to place Flower 3 inside Flower 2, Flower 4 inside Flower 3, and fi nally Flower 5 inside Flower 4.

Embellish each petal with a bit of glitter glue.
