rULES rELATinG To TYdAvnET SHoW1. All entries must be accompanied by the correct entry fee, which is non-refundable2. Only entries accompanied by appropriate Fees will be accepted.3. Exhibitors alone are responsible for the description of the Exhibits.4. Every Exhibit must be the bona fida property of the Exhibitor.

Exhibitors must carry their own Public Liability Insurance which will indemnify Tydavnet Showin the event of an accident.

5. The judges shall have power to award prizes according to their opinion of the exhibits, or towithhold prizes should they be of the opinion that sufficient merit is not shown.

6. First Prizewinning Exhibits of former years are not eligible for prizes (excluding Sections A, B, C,D, E and R).

7. Cattle winning 1st Prize will not be eligible for competition in subsequent Classes except Championship Classes.

8. All cattle exhibited must be haltered. Bulls must be secured by a ring in the nose with a chain orrope attached, and be in charge of a caretaker, otherwise they cannot be admitted. All competinganimals to be distinguished by numbers only.

9. Roots must be washed and tops removed to within 2 inches (50 mm).10. All Home Industries and Juvenile exhibits must be handed in before 10 a.m. on Morning of Show,

or previous Evening between 7 p.m and 8.30 p.m. Committe members cannot take responsiblityfor Exhibits before these times.

11. Judging in the Home Industries and Juvenile Classes will commence at 10.30 a.m. on Show Dayand the Exhibits will be closed to the public, including the exhibitors, while the judging is inprogress.

12. The Home Industries Display will be open to the public from compeltion of judging until 5 p.m.,and exhibits may not be removed before 5 p.m.

13. All exhibitors are to cooperate with stewards in the running of classes.14. The Show Committee, while taking all reasonable precaution, will not be held responsible for

accident, loss or damage to any exhibit or exhibitors while in the Show Grounds.15. The decision of the Show Committee in all matters relating to the Show shall be final.16. The acceptance of an Entry Fee by the Show Committee shall not in any circumstances be regarded

or construed by any person as an admission that any exhibit is eligible or suitable for competitionin the Show or to receive a prize or prizes.

17. no exhibitor shall in any way communicate or interfere with a Judge or Judges engaged inadjudication or attempt at any time to dispute a Judge's finding.

18. Should any dispute arise for which a specific Rule is not provided, such matter in dispute shall bereferred to the Committee, whose decision will be binding and in no case can there be any appealto law.

19. All Entries in Cattle Section must be T.B. and Brucellosis tested. All cattle exhibits must beaccompanied by their Passports / Cattle Ideentity Cards. All cattle must have two tags.

20. objections must be lodged with Hon. Secretary in writing, accompanied by deposit of €50(which will be refunded if objection is considered valid by Committee) before 5 p.m. on dayof Show.

21 Where entries are insufficient, classes may be amalgamated, amended or cancelled, at the discretionof the Show Committee. Where warranted, classes may be divided.

22. Livestock exhibitors must carry their own Public Liability insurance to cover risks caused byanimals in their care.

23. Owners shall be held responsible for any damage or injury arising out of their negligence inrestraining their livestock.

24. All Dogs on the Show Field must be on a lead and under the control of a competent handler25. Tydavent Show implements GDPR Policy this can be reviwed on our wesite or ISA website.

For the efficient running of the championships all concerned are requested to read andobserve the Rules set out below.

GENERAL RULES FOR IRISH SHOWS ASSOCIATION CHAMPIONSHIPS 2019A. ELIGIBILITY OF SHOWSShows wishing to participate in the 2019 Championships and be eligible to hold qualifiers must have collected the ChampionshipFund Levy (currently 5%) from Horse, Pony, Cattle, and Sheep class prize money for the year 2018 and forwarded the amountso collected, in full, to the Irish Shows Association Head Office within the stipulated period of not more than 30 days from thedate of their show. Alternativemethods of meeting this obligation are not acceptable.Any show or competitor in breach of the Rules set out below will be disqualified from participating or competing in thesechampionship.These General Rules and those relating to individual championships (where applicable) should be published in theshow schedule and catalogue of the participating shows and must be strictly observed.B. QUALIFYING ROUNDS (QUALIFIERS)Qualifying rounds will take place at eligible shows selected by the Irish Shows Association.C. RESPONSIBILITY OF SHOWS HOLDING QUALIFYING ROUNDSa. Selected shows should hold a separate class for each qualifier from which the highest placed animals will qualify.b. The qualifier class if possible should be held as the first (1st) class in the relevant section of the show.c. Shows must ensure that the qualifiers are held strictly in accordance with the relevant rules.d. No other sponsor may be involved in qualifying classese. Shows may charge an entrance fee for each qualifying class.

The I.S.A. will award a rosette to the successful Qualifiers on appearance at the Final.f. No show hosting a Championship Final may hold a qualifying class for that championship on the day

of the Final other than by agreement with the Irish Shows Association. “However Shows who hold qualifiers for Horses,Ponies & Cattle may ask exhibitors to enter the exhibit in at least one other class at their show on the day”.

g. Animals qualified for Finals are not eligible to enter in any other class at the Show where the Final is held, other than a Qualifying Class for another Competiton

h. Shows should appoint competent well-briefed persons to act as Stewards, who must ensure that only animals (or other exhibits) which are eligible to compete and those whose documentation is in order are allowed to proceed to the judging ring.

i. Animal Passports & “Micro Chips were applicable” should be read by a Veterinary Surgeon appointed by the show.j. On completion of judging, Stewards should instruct the successful competitors to attend at

the Show Secretary’s Office within one hour and to complete the necessary documentation for entry to the championship final.

k. The show must appoint a well briefed officer who will be in attendance at the Secretary’s Office, and who will assist exhibitors to complete the necessary documentation for participation in the final and to collect the relevant entrance fee.

l. Show Secretaries must forward complete result cards, together with appropriate fees to the Irish Shows Association within three (3) days following the holding of the show.N.B: Shows must return results card marked “No Competition” for any or all of the events for which no animal (or exhibit) has been selected.

D. RESPONSIBILITY OF EXHIBITORSa. Exhibitors accept that the Judges decision is final in all cases. Any abuse of Judges will not be

tolerated. Where a dispute or case for complaint arises the matter should only be dealt with under f. belowb. Winners of qualifiers are themselves responsible for entering their animals (or exhibits) for the final in accordance

with j. and k. above, within one hour of qualifying.c. Winners of qualifiers will compete in the finald. The Irish Shows Association in conjunction with the sponsor reserve the right to alter or amend the rules of any competition

as may be necessary or appropriate.e. Shows and competitors must contact the National Irish Shows Office for details of any championship and not the

sponsor involved.f. Objections must be lodged in writing with the Show Secreatary or with the I.S.A. representative at the show withinhalf an

hour of judging, together with a fee of €50, or other Stated fee, which is refundable in the event of the objection being upheldg. Any Exhibitor who makes a false declaration or misrepresents a fact regarding themselves or their exhibit

is liable to disqualification and or forfeiture of any prizes awarded.E. RESPONSIBILITIES OF SHOWS HOSTING CHAMPIONSHIP FINALSa. A deduction of 5% of the prize money is to be collected by the Show and forwarded to the Irish

Shows Association within 30 Days of the Final.b. Championship finals must start not later than 2pm on the day of the show & the advertised

time of starting should be adhered to as far as practicable. If necessary, other show classes should be either postponed or relocated to allow for this.

NOTICES OF INTEREST TO CHAMPIONSHIP PARTICIPANTSIRISH LAW (EU DIRECTIVE)Under Irish Law all horses moving from one location to another must be accompanied by theirpassports. It is in your own interests to ensure this is the case. Failure to do so is an offence underIrish Law and is liable on summary conviction to result in a fine up to €3000. All passports must beregistered with the name of the current owner.> Embryo Transfer: Where a foal is produced by this method the dams passport must bear a declaration dated, stampedand signed by the stallion owner (or accredited practitioner where AI is involved) stating the date on which the dam was lastcovered (or inseminated) and the name of the covering stallion.> The owners of Champions and Reserve Champions are invited to submit the animals’ passports to the I.S.A. head officewhere the placing will be endorsed and officially stamped with the seal of the Irish Shows Association as a permanent record.It is in the interest of Shows hosting championship Finals that photographs and results are forwarded to the Irish FarmersJournal immediately following Judging.“Shows who hold qualifiers for Livestock may request exhibitors to enter the exhibit in at least one other class attheir show on the day”.

department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine - SPECiFiC rEQUirEMEnTSHorSES And oTHEr EQUinES:As from 1 May 2012, any premises (which includes shows, fairs and markets) where horses or other equines are gathered must beregistered with the Department. Owners/persons in charge of such gatherings are required to submit a completed application form forregistration and to keep records of movements on/off their premises. Records must be retained for at least 3 years as they may berequired by the Department for the purposes of tracing disease.Records required are :The name and address of the owner/person in charge of the premises from which the equine came. :Premisesregistration number from which the equine came. :Passport number/uEL number of the animal.Any further information on the requirements for moving horses and equines to shows will be provided on the Department’s website athttp://www.agriculture.gov.ie/animalhealthwelfare/animalidentificationmovementCATTLE:The following changes are being introduced for keepers of bovine animals who wish to show cattle – these changes apply from the2013 Show season. Keepers of cattle are now required to obtain a Certificate of Compliance prior to the movement of an animal to a Show. Certificates of Compliance can be obtained online from the Animal Identification and Movement (AIM) system through the www.agfood.ie facility or from the Cattle Movement Notification Agency. When applying for a Certificate ofCompliance, should not specify a destination herd. On the day of the Show, the Certificate of Compliance should be presented to theShow Secretary along with the bovine passport for the animal. The keeper and the Show Secretary will then sign theMovement Notification section of the Certificate which will then be sent to the local DVO for recording onto the AIM system. Pleasenote that only cattle for which a valid Certificate of Compliance is provided to the Show Secretary will be allowed to be shown on theday of the Show. These Certificates will replace the previously-used CMMS4 forms.SHEEP:Identification: All sheep must be identified individually with appropriate ear tags issued in accordance with the requirements of theNational Sheep Identification System (NSIS)Movement Documentation: All consignments of sheep being moved must be accompanied by a completed dispatch document.Individual details of each sheep in the consignment must be recorded on the document. Sheep from non-restricted flocks only can bemoved to shows. In the case of flocks restricted following diagnosis of scrapie, sheep possessing the ARR/ARR genotype only may beexhibited. The movement of these ARR/ARR genotype sheep must be accompanied by the relevant movement permit (SCR/10), which can be obtained from the local District Veterinary Office in the county where the flock is located.AIM Notification: The movement of sheep to and from an Agricultural Show within the State must be recorded on AIM. This is doneusing a copy of the owners sheep dispatch document as follows: 1.The owner/keeper presents the signed and completed dispatchdocument to the show secretary who checks it to ensure that it is completed in full. 2.The show secretary fills in the MART section ofthe dispatch document with (i) the show number, (ii) the date of the move back to the source holding, (iii) stamps it with the showstamp and (iv) signs the dispatch document. 3.The show secretary then forwards the completed pink section of the dispatch document to the local DVO within 7 days of the show movement. 4.The show secretary keeps the white copyfor his/her records. 5.The source/destination keeper keeps the bottom yellow copy to enter it into their flock register. ultimate responsibility for fulfilling this requirement lies with the Show Secretary.Flock Register: All movements of sheep to and from shows must be recorded in the keeper’s flock register.DISCPIPLINEThe Irish Shows Association expects and will insist upon appropriate behaviour from all Exhibitors and others participting inany of the activities at our Member Shows and will not tolerate inappropriate behaviour. Inapproprite behaviour shall include but not be limited to the following:

• Profanity, coarse or vulgar language or gestures towards judges or other Show officials.• Harassment or bullying, including using words or actions that threaten, intimidate or undermine judges or other officials before, during or following Member Show activities.

• Failure to follow rules and/or obey instructions.• Abusing any animal.

Disciplinary Procedures:Complaints of misconduct against an Exhibitor or other participant at a Member Show shall be investigated and adjudicatedupon by a subcommittee appointed by the Irish Shows Association. The said subcommittee shall consist of three membersof the board of the Irish Shows Association and shall be known as the Disciplinary Committee.
