THE MAGOS LEADERSHIP Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Anri Lategan
Anri Lategan is the founder and CEO of the Magos Group. She has 16 years experience in SAP, training and change management, process analysis and integration, business development, transition management, continuous business improvement, and project management across multiple industries. She has been extensively involved with the Anglo American Group of Companies for 14 years holding various positions and managing the client relationships both internally as an employee and consultant, and externally as a Service Manager for Accenture SA.
Anri is passionate about encouraging skills development in South Africa and therefore focused on developing people's potential. Development of companies' most valuable asset -‐ it's people, could be driven with much more commitment within organizations. Chief Operations Officer (COO) Hein Fourie
Hein Fourie has 33 years experience in the mining, engineering, and training fields. Hein has been extensively involved in the learning and development of apprentices, pupil engineers, and artisans within the mining community. Hein worked 15 years combined in different training capacities in the mining industry at AngloGold Ashanti and 18 years in an operational management capacity in the engineering field in the gold and coal mining industry for AngloGold Ashanti, Aveng Mining, and Shaft Sinkers.
Hein has a deep-‐rooted love for developing people and this was evident in his first leadership role in the military, followed by his training initiatives whilst in an engineering position. He has carried that love for talent throughout his career and remains passionate about people’s learning and development within a safe learning environment.

TRAINING METHODOLOGY The traditional approach to teaching people new skills was to get everybody into a room. The instructor speaks and the students take notes. This is not always the most effective way to learn. In many situations, classroom learning can be enhanced by adding e-‐learning to provide a blended learning approach. This can be in the form of a discussion thread to continue dialogue after the session, or a series of online resources to supplement the classroom training. Many companies are grappling with a plan for integrating e-‐learning initiatives into existing Learning and Development plans. This is used to facilitate, support, enhance, and extend the reach of teaching and learning; having access to people and digital learning resources regardless of place and time.

Pre-‐assessment – to identify the learner’s current level of understanding of a subject and then train only the gaps identified by the assessment. Gap Training – using either online, classroom-‐based, or a blended approach. Formative Assessments at the end of each module to ensure learner is ready to move on to the next module or re-‐train where required. It can be used for diagnostic and remedial purposes, and can be used to build up and document a candidate profile over time in order to contribute evidence of competence to feed summative results linked to the award of credit. Summative Assessments are done on the theory learned at the end of the course. On-‐the-‐Job Learning – Once the person passed the theoretical part, he/she is sent out into the field to gain practical on-‐the-‐job-‐ experience under the mentorship of a qualified and suitably experienced individual using a specific development plan and even incorporating the buddy principle. The activities that form part of this practical developed can be tracked and reported on to measure progress. On-‐the-‐Job Competency Assessment – Once the on-‐the-‐job learning process is complete, this is followed by on-‐the-‐job competency assessments thus determine a competent or not yet competent verdict.

Gap Training -‐ The gaps identified by the on-‐the-‐job competency assessments are addressed by specific gap training ensuring that the areas where the person is found not yet competent are retrained or coached. Refresher Training and Continuous Evaluation – We also do refresher training based on your product lifecycle and/or real pain points at the time. This is also important to ensure adherence to regulations. As part of this process we also continuously measure progress and monitor the quality and effectiveness of the training program and apply remedial action at any point in time to ensure the best fit for your organization’s requirements or business objectives.
